Chick-Fil-A Spicy Deluxe Sandwich Recipe:

Chick-Fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich is one of my favorites at Chick-Fil-A but then I started getting the deluxe and it is now my go-to.

Going to our local Chick-Fil-A can get pricey especially with my large family. That is why I am glad I can make this copycat version at home.

We love that it is easy to make and my kids have even commented that they like the copycat recipe better.

What is on a Chick-Fil-A Spicy Deluxe Sandwich?

The Chick-Fil-a Spicy Deluxe Sandwich starts off with chicken breast that is cooked with cayenne pepper and other easy ingredients. Pepper jack cheese tops the chicken with lettuce, tomato and slice pickles.

It is the sandwiched between two hamburger buns. The ingredients might seem long, but the results of this crispy, spicy sandwich makes it worth it. You probably already have majority of the ingredients.

  • Prepare Frying Pan – Then heat the peanut oil or canola oil in a large pan over medium heat or in a fryer.
  • Cook Chicken – Working in batches, add the chicken to the hot oil and deep fried until the chicken is golden brown and crispy (approximately 3-5 minutes).
  • Add Cheese to Cook Chicken- Once cooked, move the chicken to a plate lined with a paper towel to soak up the excess oil. Place the cheese on chicken while warm to melt the cheese.
  • Serve and Enjoy – Then serve on the hamburger buns with the dill pickles, tomatoes and lettuce.

What is the best oil to use for frying:

Making sure when you are frying your chicken that you are using an oil that is a high smoke point. Peanut Oil or Canola Oil are good suggestions.

Using the right oil it prevents the outside of the chicken from burning before the rest of the chicken is done.

What to serve:

Variation to the Chick-Fil-A Spicy Deluxe Sandwich:

  • Healthy Alternative – If you prefer to not fry the chicken you can bake at 450 using a baking sheet for 30 minutes. Place a wire rack on the baking sheet to help make the chicken crispy. I suggest flipping about halfway.
  • Baking Powder – If you are baking the chicken, add in some baking powder to get the skin crispy.
  • Adjust the seasoning. If you like an even spicier chicken sandwich, add more paprika and cayenne pepper to suit your taste. You can also add hot sauce.
  • Reduce the pickle juice. If you do not care for this flavor, reduce the amount to ½ cup and combine with ½ cup water.
