Everyone will be so impressed with this Fried Cheesecake when you make them. The outside crunchy texture and the warm, gooey inside makes them a crowd favorite.

Ingredients

Ingredients - Cheesecake, pancake mix, egg, milk, vegetable oil, powdered sugar, sugar
  • Frozen Cheesecake – We recommend using approximately 16-20 ounces Cheesecake
  • Pancake Mix – Feel free to use any kind, but we recommend this Pancake Waffle Mix
  • Egg – Use large, room temperature egg
  • Milk – We like using whole milk, but use milk of choice
  • Vegetable Oil – Use oil of choice such as canola oil and you will need more for frying
  • Powdered Sugar – Optional Topping

How to Make Fried Cheesecake

Step 1 – Cut the frozen cheesecake into small 1 inch squares.   Place the frozen cheesecake pieces into the freezer until you’re ready to fry them.

Step 2 – Heat 3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot until the oil reaches 360 degrees F.

Step 3 – Whisk together the pancake mix, egg, milk, 2 teaspoons vegetable oil and vanilla extract in a large bowl. You can also combine with a hand mixer.

Step 4 – Dip each cheesecake piece into the batter allowing the excess batter to drip off and then place in the oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes over medium heat, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown.

  • Step 5 – Remove from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on a plate lined with a paper towel to soak up the excess grease.
  • Step 6 – Serve these deep-fried cheesecake bites with strawberry dipping sauce and enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • Prepare Cheesecake – If the cheesecake as a thick graham crack crust, trim off some of the crust so that most of the insert will be the cheesecake mixture. It’s best to let the cheesecake sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes to softened some to make it easier to cut.
  • Heating Oil – Make sure to monitor the oil closely when heating it as if it gets too hot the fried cheesecake will burn and get too brown. I monitor with a candy thermometer and leave it in the oil when frying.
  • Drain Cheesecake Bites – Make sure to allow the fried cheesecake to drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.
  • Work in Batches – Place the piece of cheesecake bites in the hot oil in batches to ensure that the cheesecake get fully fried.
