Chickfila Chicken Tortilla Soup is a creamy soup that is loaded with beans, chicken, corn and seasoning. This is one of our favorite soups at Chick-Fil-A. But now we can make it at home.

The ingredients are added to the a large pot and cooked for less than 30 minutes. Cooking this seasonal soup at home saves time and money. We love to make our favorite restaurant recipes at home.

This soup is hearty, delicious and easy to make. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy this copycat soup any day of the year.

Does Chick-Fil-A have Chicken Tortilla Soup Year Round?

This Chick-Fil-A Chicken Tortilla Soup is only available at Chick-Fil-A during the winter months. Since this is only a seasonal item on the menu, we created this popular creamy soup recipe so you can make it at home any day of the year.

We like to make soups year round no matter the weather outside. Since this ingredients are simple, makes it budget friendly.

Ingredients needed - olive oil, onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, cannellini beans, diced tomatoes, cream style corn, black beans, cooked chicken, lime

Ingredients: 

  • Olive Oil 
  • White Onion, finely chopped 
  • Minced Garlic 
  • Cumin 
  • Dried Oregano 
  • Salt 
  • Cannellini Beans (15 oz each)
  • Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies (Rotel – 10 oz each) 
  • Cream Style Corn (15 oz) 
  • Whole Kernel Corn (15 oz) 
  • Black Beans (15 oz) 
  • Shredded Cooked Chicken 
  • Lime, juiced 
  • Toppings of your Choice 

How to Make Chick-Fil-A Chicken Tortilla Soup: 

  • Add oil and Vegetables – Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium high heat.  Sauté the chopped onions for 5 minutes until tender.  Then add in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minutes until aromatic 
  • Stir in Seasoning – Then stir in the cumin, oregano and salt. 
  • Blend Beans – Place 2 cans of the Cannellini beans in a blender (do not drain first) and blend until smooth. 
  • Add remaining ingredients – Then added the pureed beans, remaining can of cannellini beans, diced tomatoes with green chilis, cream style corn, beans, corn, and shredded chicken to the pot.  Do not drain any of the can items before adding them to the pot. 
  • Simmer Soup – Stir well to combine and allow the soup to simmer over medium heat for approximately 15-20 minutes until combined and heated through. Then add in the lime juice. Taste test and add more salt if needed at this time. 
  • Serve and Enjoy – Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy.

If you need to cook chicken for these recipes. You can use one of these options to make the chicken. We like to prepare a large batch of chicken to use for many different recipes.

  • Instant Pot Shredded ChickenIn just 25 minutes, you can make this delicious shredded chicken in the pressure cooker. It is really flavorful because we use chicken broth instead of water.
  • Crock Pot Shredded Chicken – Toss your frozen chicken breast in the crock pot with broth and salt and pepper. In about 6 hours, chicken is done for the week.

We like to several different topping ideas when I serve this soup. These are some of our favorites:

  • Tortilla Chips
  • Frito Chips
  • Sour Cream

Chicken Tortilla Soup Chick-Fil-A Tips:

  • Cook Chicken – We recommend cooking chicken in broth but you can also use rotisserie chicken.
  • Make in the Crock Pot – These ingredients can mixed in a slow cooker to cook all day.
  • Vegetables – Cook the vegetables before adding the remaining ingredients to enhance the flavor.
  • Beans – You can change the beans if you prefer. We have used navy beans and the soup was still delicious.
  • Green Chiles – If you want the soup to be spicy, add in some green chiles.

How to Store:

Refrigerate any leftover soup in an airtight container for up to 5 days. We really enjoy this soup leftover as the ingredients marinate together overnight which makes it very flavorful.

How to Reheat Leftovers:

We recommend heating the leftovers on the stovetop. This ensure that it heats thoroughly. This soup can be heated in the microwave in a microwave safe container.

If heating in the microwave, heat in 1 minute intervals until heated thoroughly.

Can you Freeze Tortilla Soup?

This recipe freezes great. Sometimes I make a double batch of Chick-Fil-A Chicken Tortilla Soup to have the extra to freeze. The consistency is the same as the day you made it. Just reheat and you have delicious soup for those busy nights.

We like freezing this soup in freezing safe individual containers. This makes a perfect lunch for my husband.

If stored properly this soup will stay good for about 3 to 4 months.

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
