Pro Tips

  • Broth Consistency – If the broth gets too thick, splash in warm broth or milk. If too thin, simmer uncovered a few minutes.
  • Cutting Biscuits – Cut the biscuit dough with a knife or a pizza cutter.
  • Pressing Biscuits – Do not skip the step with pressing the dough into the broth mixture. This helps to cook the dough evenly.

Variations Ideas

  • Add Vegetables – This is a great dish to sneak in veggies for added texture and flavor. Add in chopped onions, frozen peas, corn, celery, green beans, mushrooms and carrots.
  • Change Dumplings – We used canned biscuits in this recipe but you can also make Easy Homemade Biscuits Recipe, Gnocchi, or slice refrigerated pie crust.
  • Ranch Seasoning – Add in 1 tablespoon of Homemade Ranch Dressing into the broth before adding the biscuits. You can even add in fresh herbs such as thyme or rosemary.
  • Cream of Chicken Soup – For a creamier texture add in a can of cream of chicken soup or cream of mushroom soup.
