If you are looking for a simple dessert to make in the air fryer, make Air Fryer Bananas. This quick and easy dessert is made with simple ingredients and takes less than 10 minutes to prepare.

These cinnamon flavored bananas are perfect served straight from the air fryer or with a scoop of ice cream. The caramelized bananas turn out soft, gooey and delicious. If you love bananas, then you probably already have everything to make these.

Bananas are naturally sweet, but adding the cinnamon and sugar give them even more sweetness. Slice some bananas and enjoy this dessert anytime of the day.

How to Make Air Fried Bananas: 

  • Step 1 – Prepare Ripe Bananas – Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise on a cutting board.
  • Step 2 – Combine sugar & cinnamon – In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.

  • Step 3 – Coat the Bananas – Coat each of the banana slices with the melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture on top. 
  • Step 4 – Place bananas in air fryer basket – Place the bananas in an air fryer making sure that they do not overlap.

  • Step 5 – Air Fry Bananas – Air fry at 400 degrees F for 8-10 minutes until golden brown (flipping the bananas halfway through the cook time). 
  • Step 6 – Serve and Enjoy – Serve warm as is or topped with ice and enjoy.

How to Serve Air Fryer Bananas:

There are many ways to serve these air fryer bananas. We love air fryer recipes, and making desserts is one of my favorites.

  • Vanilla Ice Cream – Place the bananas in a small bowl and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It is the perfect combination.
  • Cereal Topping – Make a bowl of your favorite cereal and top these caramelized bananas on top. They are the perfect addition to a bowl of shredded wheats.
  • Banana Split – If you love banana splits as much as my family, switch up your bananas and cook them in the air fryer. I love this recipe and the combination of the flavors.
  • Breakfast – Top these slice bananas on your toast, pancakes or waffles. Drizzle with some maple syrup for a delicious breakfast.
  • Oatmeal – I love a bowl of warm oatmeal, but adding these air fryer bananas takes it to the next level. Add a few chocolate chips for the ultimate bowl of oatmeal.

Variations:

  • Change the Seasoning – You can usually different seasoning on these bananas. Sprinkle pumpkin pie spice for a fall flavored dessert.
  • Sugars – Feel free to use different types of sugars. You can use a sugar substitute that fits in your diet.
  • Coconut Oil – Instead of basting the bananas with melted butter, use coconut oil. It is a great and healthier alternative. Add some extract to the melted coconut such as vanilla, almond or orange flavor.
  • Sprinkle with Sea Salt – We love the sea and salty combination on the bananas.
  • Add more flavor – For more flavor, brush the bananas with some rum. You can brush with spice rum such as brandy or whisky.
