Ingredients

- Pork Shoulder Roast – You can also use a pork butt or a pork tenderloin
- Ranch Dressing Mix – Try making Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix
- Packet of Au Jus Gravy Mix – Substitute for Brown Gravy Mix
- Cloves Garlic – Learn How to Mince Garlic Cloves
- Chicken Broth – See Chicken broth substitutes if you are out

How to Make Crock Pot Mississippi Pork Roast

Step 1 – Place the sliced onions at the bottom of the crock pot.

Step 2 – Put the pork roast on top of the onions.

Step 3 – Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus mix over the pork roast.

Step 4 – Place the butter on top of the roast.

Step 5 – Add the peperoncini peppers and pour the pepperoncini juice and chicken broth around the roast.

Step 6 – Sprinkle minced garlic over the top.
Step 7 – Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds.
Step 8 – Once done, shred the pork in the crock pot, mixing it with the juices.
Step 9 – Serve hot, with the peppers on the side, if desired.

- 4-5 pound pork shoulder roast
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- ¼ cup salted butter
- 6 pepperoncini peppers whole
- ¼ cup pepperoncini juice from the jar
- 1 onion sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ½ cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Place the sliced onions at the bottom of the crock pot.
- Put the pork roast on top of the onions.
- Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus mix over the pork roast.
- Place the butter on top of the roast.
- Add the pepperoncini peppers and pour the pepperoncini juice and chicken broth around the roast.

- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds.
- Once done, shred the pork in the crock pot, mixing it with the juices.
- Serve hot, with the peppers on the side, if desired.

- Cooking Time – We recommend to cook the pork roast on low but you can also cook on HIGH for 5-6 hours if short on time. The meat just won’t be as tender.
- Sauce Consistency – If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with a little cold water, then stir into the crock pot. Cook on high for an additional 15-20 minutes until thickened.
