I have several children and they enjoyed this meal! It is pretty basic, and some family members added extra flavor and/or shredded cheese.

I made extra and froze it uncooked, as suggested in the recipe article. My question is: how long do I cook from frozen 1) in the crockpot or 2) in the instant pot?

My mother used to make this a lot. When our Dad was on strike it was a real delicious way to feed all 7 of us. We called it Ground Meat Step. It was always served with a nice crusty bread with butter. I usually make it a few times during the cold weather.

  3. This recipe looks great and simple and will give it a try but just wanted to point out that once you combine the tomatoes, broth etc, I assume you then pour it over the ground beef that is in the Crock Pot. Thanks again! I’ll give this a try for sure! I’m thinking of then a little sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top when serving would taste amazing!
