Marry Me Chicken Slow Cooker Recipe is loaded with flavor with the simple ingredients. Chicken breast is cooked in a creamy sauce with sun dried tomatoes and easy pantry seasoning to make a delicious dish.

Very little prep is need to get everything tossed into your slow cooker. The results are a juicy and tender chicken breast that is full of flavor. This recipe is family friendly and there rarely is any leftovers.

Ingredients

Ingredients needed - chicken breast, olive oil, chicken broth, flour, heavy whipping cream, minced garlic, salt and pepper, italian seasoning, paprika, sundried tomatoes, butter, basil, parmesan cheese
  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts – You can substitute with boneless chicken thighs
  • Olive Oil – Feel free to use other types of oil
  • Low Sodium Chicken Broth – If you are out, see Chicken broth substitutes
  • All Purpose Flour – You can also use cornstarch
  • Heavy Whipping Cream – For a creamy gravy
  • Minced Garlic – Learn How to Mince Garlic Cloves
  • Simple Spices – We used Salt, Black Pepper, paprika and Italian Seasoning. You can also add in fresh herbs such as oregano or thyme for even more flavor.
  • Sun-dried Tomatoes – Drain before adding in 
  • Butter – You used salted butter
  • Fresh Basil and Grated Parmesan Cheese – Optional topping

How to Make Marry Me Chicken in the Slow Cooker

Step 1 – Heat Oil and Brown Chicken – Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.  Brown the chicken breasts in the oil for 2-3 minutes per side.  

Step 2 – Combine Sauce Ingredients – In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and flour.  Add this mixture to a crock pot.  Add in the minced garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and paprika.  Gently mix to combine these ingredients.

Step 3 – Add chicken to slow cooker – Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot. Top the chicken with the sun dried tomatoes and butter. 

Step 4 – Cover and Cook – Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Cook until the chicken is cooked through.  Cooking time will vary.

Step 5 – Add Heavy Cream – Stir the heavy whipping cream into the crock pot. Stir in for the last 60 minutes if cooking on low or 30 minutes if cooking on higher.  

Step 6 – Serve with pasta and enjoy – Serve this juicy chicken warm over pasta topped with the fresh basil and grated parmesan cheese.  Enjoy!
