Recipe Tips

  • When to put the Reese’s Cup in? – You can place the peanut butter cup before you put the batter in the cupcake liner or pour some batter into the liner and then place your peanut cup in. I have tried different ways, and they all seem to work.
  • Use different candy – I like to make these cupcakes around Halloween. The kids get so much candy. I have tried to this recipe and Snickers candy worked great.
  • Change the frosting – A sour cream frosting would be good with this sweet chocolate cupcake.
  • Get a cupcake carrier – I take these to parties all the time. If you don’t have a cupcake carrier, they make transporting cupcakes so much easier! It keeps them all together standing up and no mishaps on the trip there.
  • Filling Cupcake Pan – Try to fill the paper cupcake liners with about the same amount to ensure that the cupcakes bake evenly. We like using an ice cream scoop to easily fill the muffin cup.
  • Frosting Cupcake – Make sure that the cupcakes have cooled completely to room temperature before frosting the cupcakes. You pipe the frosting on the cupcakes with a piping bag or spread it on with a knife.

How to Know When Cupcakes are Finish Baking

Baking time will vary depending on your oven and the size of your cupcakes. You will know that you cupcakes are finish baking when the edges and center are set.

We also recommend using a toothpick inserted in the center of the cupcake to check to see if cupcakes are finished baking. If the toothpick comes out clean, then they are ready to be removed from the oven.
