My kids and I love to make desserts for gifts and for our holiday dinners. These simple truffles make it so easy to have an assembly line so everyone has a job. If you have made our Oreo Truffles, then you are going to love this recipe.

We have even made Mummy White Chocolate Truffles for the perfect Halloween treat. These bite size treats are perfect for any occasion and are loaded with flavors.

Ingredients:

Ingredients to make white chocolate truffles

Variations Ideas:

  • Change Chocolate – Use milk chocolate or dark chocolate for more ways to make this truffles recipe. We have even used white chocolate chips instead of baking bars.
  • Chopped Nuts – Add chopped nuts such as macadamia nuts for a crunchy texture.
  • Coconut – Shredded coconut is also amazing topped on the truffles.
  • Sprinkles – You can also use different colors of sprinkles for baby showers, holidays, birthday parties and more.
  • Liqueurs – You can add in Irish Cream liquor Baileys Truffles.

Step by Step Instructions:

Step 1 – In a small saucepan add heavy whipping cream and simmer. Make sure to stir constantly, just until it begins to bubble in the pan.

Step 2 – Stir butter into the heavy cream.

Step 3 – Add 8 ounces white chocolate and stir, over heat until completely melted.

Step 4 – Remove from heat and pour into a small glass bowl.

Step 5 – Let let the truffle mixture cool completely and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.

Step 6 – Remove from refrigerator and shape into 1″ balls. Place on wax paper and pop into the freezer for 30 minutes.

Step 7 – Heat the remaining 8 ounces of white baking chocolate in a small bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until completely melted.

Step 8 – Dip truffles into melted chocolate and place onto wax paper or baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with white jimmies. Let set in the refrigerator to harden.

Recipe Tips:

  • Cooking Scoop – I highly recommend using a ice cream scoop. This helps to make the truffles the same size.
  • Chill Mixture – Make sure to refrigerate the mixture to allow it to firm.
  • Melting Chocolate – Carefully melt the chocolate in 30 second intervals. This helps to melt the chocolate without burning.

How to Store:

Store using an airtight container in the refrigerator. This is really handy if you are making them for a party. This is the perfect dessert to make ahead of time.

How Long Do they Last:

You can keep the homemade white chocolate truffles in the fridge for 1-2 weeks. However, I like to use them within the week. I think they taste best.

I haven’t tried that yet but I think it would work great!

  2. Amber says:

Can these be refrigerated for multiple days and then dipped in chocolate for serving? Trying to make these for my bridal shower!

  3. Carrie says:

Wendy – I’m so sorry for the confusion. I used a total of 8 oz for this recipe – 4 oz for the mixture and 4 oz for the dipping chocolate.

  4. Wendy K Beesley says:

To clarify the ingredients with the instructions, is this 8 oz of white chocolate divided into 4 oz for the truffle mixture and 4 oz for the dipping chocolate? Or do we start with 16 oz. divided into 8 oz. for each?
