I am so guilty of forgetting to take something out of the freezer for dinner and going into a panic that evening. This stew is the perfect go to recipe when you only have a few minutes to cook and need dinner fast.

You truly can have a delicious home cooked meal in under 10 minutes. The entire family will love this meal.

It is so quick to cook this meal that you could not even get take out that fast. Plus, it is so much better than anything you could buy.

How long do you cook meatballs in instant pot?

This recipe is one of the quickest meals and so delicious. I did 8 minutes pressure and the stew was so tender and amazing.

The meatballs had so much flavor and tasted like the stew had been slow cooked all day.

Ingredients for Old Fashioned Meatball Stew:

  • 1.5 lbs frozen meatballs
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 celery ribs, sliced
  • 3 Carrots
  • 3 Russet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 32 oz beef broth

How to make Instant Pot Meatball Vegetable Soup:

  1. Combine everything in the Instant pot.
  2. Stir to combine.
  3. Add the lid, set the valve to sealing.
  4. Set the pressure for 8 min.
  5. Do a quick release to release the pressure.
  6. Stir and serve immediately.

Tips for Instant pot meatball stew recipe:

  • We used frozen meatballs but you can use fully cooked meatballs. Just adjust the time.
  • The recipe calls for tomato paste but you can substitute tomato soup if in a pinch.
  • Ground beef can be used instead of meatballs for a change.

Another time saving tip is to use a small food chopper or food processor to quickly and easily chop the onions in this recipe. If you do not have one of these, I highly recommend them.

They are such a time saver and you can get the veggies really fine. I usually just chop the entire vegetable and freeze what I don’t need.

You will need a pressure cooker for Instant Pot Meatballs.

I am using an 8 quart Instant pot but you can use a 6 quart. I personally have an Instant Pot and so far I am loving it.

No worries if you do not have a pressure cooker yet, you can make this delicious stew in your slow cooker. Just keep in mind it will take much longer and need to cook for several hours in the crock pot.

  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 32 oz beef broth

  2. I just discover ed this because I am trying my instant pot for the first time and have a recipe similar to this, Mexican meatball soup. It requires more liquid with 1c of salsa and a 28oz can of diced tomatoes. Do I need to adjust the time or the amount of liquid? Thanks!

  3. I think the time would probably be the same but I would add 1 cup water or beef broth to ensure that the pressure cooker is able to come to pressure. Thank you!
