This Spaghetti Salad is a tasty side dish that we serve for all of our Summertime BBQ’s. If you have made our Italian Pasta Salad or Salad Supreme Pasta Salad then you are going to love the flavors of this Classic Spaghetti Salad.

This Spaghetti Salad is simple to make and the perfect pasta salad to make ahead of time.

What is Spaghetti Salad?

Spaghetti Salad is similar to any other pasta salad but it is made with spaghetti noodles. It is best served cold and is completely customizable.

The key ingredient is the Salad Supreme Seasoning that gives this pasta salad so much flavor. It is light, refreshing and a staple summertime side dish.

Ingredients

Ingredients - Spaghetti Noodles, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, red onion, english cucumber, cherry tomatoes, olives, salad supreme seasoning, Italian Dressing, parmesan cheese
  • Spaghetti Noodles – Spaghetti noodles are generally used in this recipe but any type of pasta can be used instead based on your preference. We have even used penne pasta
  • Green Bell Pepper, Red Bell Pepper and Red Onion – Diced into bite size pieces
  • English Cucumber – Peeled, cut in half lengthwise and sliced
  • Cherry Tomatoes – Cut in half, or 2 cups
  • Sliced Olives – Make sure drain canned black olives
  • McCormick Salad Supreme Seasoning – Find at your local grocery store
  • Italian Dressing – Use store bought dressing or make Olive Garden Italian Salad Dressing
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese – We recommend using freshly grated cheese

Variations Ideas

  • Vegetables – This salad will taste amazing with your favorite fresh veggies. Mix in chopped broccoli, grape tomatoes, and cauliflower.
  • Spices – If you are unable to find supreme seasoning, feel free to add in these spices separately. We like to start by adding in ½ teaspoon paprika, fresh parsley, basil, and garlic powder.
  • Cheese – You can easily change the cheese to what you prefer. We have suggest shredded cheddar cheese or mozzarella cheese.
  • Add Meat – Add in mini pepperoni, salami, or diced ham for amazing flavor and delicious variation.

How to Make Spaghetti Salad

Step 1 – Cook spaghetti noodles based on the package instructions to al dente in salt water. Drain well and rinse the noodles with cold water to cool them off and keep them from over cooking.

Step 2 – Dice the vegetables and place them in a large bowl.

Step 3 – Add in the spaghetti and sprinkle the salad supreme seasoning on top.  Toss to thoroughly combine all the ingredients.

Step 4 – Pour the dressing on top and stir to coat all of the pasta and vegetables with the dressing. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

  • Step 5 – When ready to serve, top with the grated parmesan cheese. Stir to coat the ingredients with the cheese. Serve cold and enjoy! 

Recipe Tips

  • Change Vegetables – You can easily omit any vegetables that you do not care for or add in any of your favorites that are not listed in the recipe.  
  • Spaghetti Noodles – This spaghetti pasta salad is made with spaghetti noodles. Cook the noodles ahead of time to ensure that have cooled completely. We cooked them according to the package directions and al dente. Toss with olive oil after cooking to prevent the noodles from sticking.
  • Prepare Vegetables – Chop the veggies ahead of time with a vegetable chopper so they are about the same size.

Can I Make Spaghetti Salad Ahead of Time?

We think it is best made ahead of time. Prepare the spaghetti noodles and allow them to cool. Then combine with the other ingredients and place in the fridge. This will all the ingredients to marinate for the best flavor.

Spaghetti Salad is best served cold or a room temperature.

How to Store Leftover Spaghetti Salad

Store leftovers spaghetti salad in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator. The pasta will soak up the dressing as it is stored, so you may need to add more dressing when enjoying the leftovers.
