We make a lot of smoothies in the summertime and the combination of strawberry and mango is a favorite. Making this smoothie makes it taste like paradise because of the delicious tropical flavor.

We even love making Mango Protein Smoothie, Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie, Orange Creamsicle Smoothie, Protein Fruit Smoothie, Spinach Fruit Smoothie and Dragon Fruit Smoothie. Adding in the additional protein makes these smoothie so filling.

Why This Recipe Works

Fresh fruit smoothies are a family favorite. The creamy texture and the fruity taste makes for an easy way to get my kids to eat fruit.

You can easily make this smoothie with frozen fruit or fresh fruit. I like using frozen fruit because it last longer and the fruit is already cut up. Feel free to add in other healthy benefits to make this smoothie your own.

Variations Ideas

  • Yogurt – You can use vanilla yogurt for a sweeter smoothie. Greek yogurt also a great substitute.
  • Milk – Make this smoothie with different types of liquid. Make it with any non-dairy milk such as oat milk or unsweetened almond milk. I have even used water or feel free to use juice. Pineapple juice or orange juice are great additions.
  • Sweetener – We love adding in honey but you can also use maple syrup or a sweetener of your choice.
  • Additions – You can even sneak in kale or spinach for added flavor. Other additions that I love is chia seeds, flax seeds and protein powder.
  • Smoothie Bowl This smoothie also makes a great base for a smoothie bowl.

Step by Step Instructions

  • Step 1 – Add the frozen strawberries, frozen mango chunks, sliced banana, yogurt, milk, and honey to a blender.

  • Step 2 – Blend the ingredients on high speed until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes. If the smoothie turns out too thick, simply pour in a bit more milk and blend again to achieve the perfect consistency.

  • Step 3 – Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey if needed.
  • Step 4 – Pour the smoothie into glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired.
  • Step 5 – Serve the smoothie immediately.

Recipe Tips

  • Ice Cubes – If you are using fresh fruit and like a thicker consistency you may need to add in ice cubes. I like to add them in the blender first so it makes it easier to blend.
  • Blender – The key to a smooth and creamy smoothie is having a good blender. If you are needing a new one, check out The 6 Best Blenders Under $100 of 2024. We love using our Vitamix but it is an investment.
  • Consistency – If you prefer a thinner consistency add more liquid.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Make Smoothies Ahead of Time?

You can prepare the smoothie as the recipe indicates and store in a freezer safe container. Place in the refrigerator the night before to thaw and it is ready to enjoy the next day. Another option is to divide the smoothie ingredients in zip lock freezer bag and place in the freezer. Then when you are ready to prepare, place the packet in the blender with the liquid. This saves time and it doesn’t take long to blend.

How to Store Leftover Smoothies

If you are unable to finish your smoothie, place in the refrigerator and enjoy in about 1-2 days.
