What is Italian Wedding Soup?

Italian Wedding Soup is not a soup that is served at weddings. The original name of the soup is minestra maritata, which why it is called Italian Wedding Soup.

It is a heavy broth soup that usually contains green vegetables, meatballs and orzo pasta. We love making it in the slow cooker but it can also be made on the stove top.
