Will Coke tenderize ribs?

The carbonation in the soda helps to tenderize the ribs. It breaks down the meat and helps to make it tender.

The acidity in Coke greatly tenderizes the meat. The sugar in the soda enhances the sweetness in the recipe. These BBQ ribs are so tender and delicious.

How do I Keep My Ribs From Drying Out?

Keep the lid on while cooking. Resist the urge to keep taking the lid off and checking the ribs.

Since we are slow cooking them with a lid on, the ribs will stay moist and fall off the bone. The cook time in the slow cooker helps to make these absolutely perfect.

Crockpot ribs with coke tips:

  • Barbecue Sauce. Use your favorite brand or flavor in this country style ribs recipe. Sweet Baby Ray’s taste great. You can also try this homemade BBQ Sauce.
  • Caramelize Ribs. The ribs are even better once broiled and the sauce begins to caramelize. Don’t skip this step.
  • Aluminum Foil. Clean up is a breeze if you put foil on the baking sheet before broiling.
  • Broiling the ribs. The meat will be extremely tender when removing from the slow cooker. If it falls off the bone, do not worry. Simply, place the meat on the baking sheet, coat in sauce and broil.

  • Soda. You can easily experiment with different types of soda in this recipe. Some ideas include: Dr. Pepper, Cherry Coke and Mango Pepsi. This is a fun way to modify the flavor slightly without much work.

Have done ribs this way for years. Also, you might try substituting the coke for a can of cherry pie
filling for a diff. experience if you have not tried it yet.
