This is the easiest method for hard boiled eggs instant pot recipe and also a simple way to remember.

  • Start with 5 minutes of pressure cooking.
  • 5 minutes of letting the eggs rest before opening the lid.
  • Finish with 5 minutes in the water bath.

This is our favorite way to make these eggs and they turn out perfectly each and every time.

Step by Step Instructions

  • Step 1 – Place one cup of water in the Instant pot. Add in an egg basket trivet or the instant pot rack in the bottom of the Instant pot.
  • Step 2 – Add in the room temperature eggs to the steamer basket.

  • Step 3 – Place lid on pressure cooker and set the valve to sealing.
  • Step 4 – Set the pressure cook time for 5 minutes on high pressure. Cooking time will vary if you want soft boiled eggs.
  • Step 5 – Once cook time has elapsed, let pressure natural release for 5 minutes. After natural pressure release, then do a quick release and carefully remove eggs from Instant Pot and place in ice water bath. You may need to use tongs on hot eggs
  • Step 6 – Let eggs sit in bowl of ice water bath for up to 5 minutes.
  • Step 7 – Remove perfect hard-boiled eggs from water bath.
  • Step 8 – Crack egg on counter top and remove shell.

How to Peel Hard Boiled Eggs

Follow these simple steps to easy to peel hard boiled eggs.

  • After cooking the eggs, place in an ice bath to stop the eggs from cooking. Leave in the ice bath for about 5 minutes. This makes it easier to peel eggs.
  • Gently tap the bottom of the egg on the counter to crack.
  • The roll the egg on the counter to slightly crack the egg.
  • Then start peeling the egg from the bottom to easily remove egg shells.
  • Rinse off the egg under cold water to ensure all the egg shells have been removed.
