Variations Ideas

My kids actually prefer using an ice cream cone instead of a graham cracker because it is just so fun an easy. Campfire cones or s’mores cones make the best dessert.

You can really us anything you have on hand or try new things. More ideas include:

  • Candy – Add mini Reese’s peanut butter cups to the cone. Peanut butter fans will love this combination. We have even added Rolos or chopped up Hershey Bar.
  • Marshmallows – You can use mini marshmallows or regular size.
  • Try other types of morsels– Add in dark chocolate, white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips and more.
  • Chopped Nuts – Add in chopped peanuts, pecans or almond for a delicious option.
  • Syrup Drizzle – Drizzle with caramel sauce or chocolate sauce for a fun twist.

You can set out a topping bar and let everyone make their own smores. It is such a great way to use up leftover candy and such. Everyone will have a blast making their very own s’mores cone.

  • Step 3 – Finally, unwrap each cone and enjoy. Just be really careful opening the foil because it will be hot. This is so fun and delicious.

Recipe Tips

  • Wrapped Cones – We recommend using heavy duty aluminum foil when wrapping the cones. It holds up the best when grilling and baking.
  • Heating Cones – It doesn’t take much time to heat the cones on the grill. Watch them closely so they do not burn.
  • Removing Foil – Carefully remove the foil from the cones as steam will escape and it will be very hot.
