- Vegetable – Small Onion, Red Bell Pepper, Green Bell Pepper slice in about the same size pieces
- Olive Oil – Use oil of your choice – Vegetable oil or Avocado Oil
- Flank Steak – Slice thinly against the grain for the most tender results. Slightly freezing the steak for 20โ30 minutes makes it easier to slice thin.
- Spices – Black Pepper, Ground Ginger and Minced Garlic gives the steak amazing flavor
- Low Sodium Soy Sauce – See Best Soy Sauce Substitute. Using low sodium keeps the sauce from being too salty. You can replace part of it with beef broth for a lighter flavor.
- Granulated Sugar – Adds a hint of sweetness. Substitute with brown sugar
- Cornstarch Slurry – Always mix cornstarch with cold water before adding to the pan to prevent clumping.

- Slicing Beef – Itโs very important to cut the beef against the grain so that itโs tender when cooked in this recipe. Make sure it is about the same size so it cooks evenly. We like to cut in about 1 inch pieces.
- Cooking – We like to cook the veggies and steak over medium high heat for the best sear and tender veggies.
- Combining Sauce Ingredients – Make sure the sauce ingredients are completely combined. We like to use a whisk to make sure the cornstarch mixed together for the best consistency.
Variations Ideas
- Spicy – Add a kick of flavor by adding ½ tsp of red pepper flakes, hot sauce or more black pepper.
- Vegetables – Feel free to add in or swap our veggies to what you prefer. We love to add in slice mushrooms, potatoes, tomatoes, chopped broccoli and carrots. We often times we use what we use leftover veggies.
- Low Carb – Swap the sugar with monk fruit and serve this dish over Cauliflower Rice for a low carb variations.
