Variations for Christmas Pancakes

  • Reindeer Face. You can easily adapt these pancakes based on what you have or prefer. Try using banana slices, blueberries or mini marshmallows for the eyes. Likewise, raspberries can also be used for the nose.
  • Bacon. If you do not want to cook the bacon in the microwave, you can cook bacon in the oven.

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Step 1. Combine the dry ingredients. Whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • Step 2. Get out a separate bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk and vanilla.
  • Step 3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Whisk the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, then stir in the melted butter.
  • Step 4. Heat the skillet. Heat a nonstick griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  • Step 5. Pour the pancake batter. Pour ⅓ cup batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake to make the faces of the reindeer.
  • Step 6. Cook the pancakes. Cook until bubbles form in the middle, about 3 minutes. Flip and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Remove from the griddle.
  • Step 7. Make the pancakes in batches. Continue this process to make approximately 12 small oval shaped pancakes as well for the ears of the reindeer.

How to Make the Reindeer:

  • Step 1. Cook the bacon. Line a plate with a paper towel.  Place the bacon on top. Microwave for 6-8 minutes (flipping halfway through the cook time) until the bacon is cooked through and crisp.
  • Step 2. Arrange the bacon antlers. Place a large pancake on each serving plate.  Place 2 pieces of bacon and 2 small oval pancakes on the top for the antlers and the ears.
  • Step 3. Make the faces. Make the faces of the reindeer with the whipped cream, chocolate chips and sliced strawberries.
  • Step 4. Serve and enjoy this easy recipe. Then the adorable reindeer pancakes are ready to serve and enjoy with maple syrup
