I love the convenience of baking pancakes over making them the traditional way. This process is easier when you have to make a lot of pancakes for a family get together or party.
Also, you don’t have to monitor the cooking pancakes as closely as when you prepare them on a griddle or a cast iron skillet like when I have made dutch baby pancakes.
No flipping pancakes is required with this baked pancakes recipe! I love that I can throw these in the oven in the morning (which usually takes less than 15 minutes) and pancakes are ready for me to enjoy after I finish getting ready for the day.

- 3 Tablespoons Sugar
- 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- ½ Teaspoon Salt
- 1 ½ Cups Milk
- 2 – 4 tablespoons Melted Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Making pancakes from scratch can be intimidating but I promise this recipe is not overly complicated. Now that you have all the ingredients, let’s continue to learn how to bake pancakes in the oven.
How to make baked pancakes:
Next in a medium bowl whisk together the dry ingredients (sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt).
Then in a separate large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs and melted butter. Then stir the flour mixture into the milk mixture, just until combined. The batter will be a bit lumpy.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow it to cool for about 5 minutes, then cut into squares and serve with your favorite toppings.

You can easily swap out the flour for whole wheat flour and the milk for low-fat milk for a healthier option for these delicious baked pancakes.
My kids usually can’t tell when I use wheat flour instead and this makes the baked pancakes higher in fiber so the pancakes are more filling and you stay fuller longer with this variation.
