In literally 8 minutes, you can have perfectly crispy bacon. Since everything is in the air fryer, you don’t have to worry about grease popping and the smell is contained. All you smell is that glorious bacon smell.

Why We Love This Recipe

I love to make a BLT with slice of bacon but cooking bacon on the stove top or the oven takes time and can get messy. You will love cooking in the air fryer because it is less mess and takes less than 10 minutes to cook crispy bacon strips.

It has become my new favorite way to cook bacon because how easy it is. You can make thick-cut bacon, classic cut bacon and any type of bacon that you prefer.

The bacon grease ends up in the drip tray so it is easy to drain to make clean up even easier.

How to Cook Bacon in Air Fryer

  • Step 1 – Set the temperature for 350 degrees. Preheat for 5 minutes.
  • Step 2 – Place the slices bacon (whole) in the air fryer. You want enough to cover the bottom.

  • Step 3 – Cook for 8 minutes for soft bacon and 9 minutes for crunchy bacon.

  • Step 4 – After the amount of cooking time is finished you can cook in 1 minute increments. Cook until you are satisfied with the crunchiness. Then remove the bacon with tongs and place on a paper towel lined plate to cool.

  • Step 5 – Bacon will continue to get crispy as it cools. Continue doing this until all the bacon is cooked.

Recipe Tips

  • Prepare Air Fryer – Make sure to preheat air fryer before cooking bacon. If your air fryer does not have the preheat function, then turn it on for about 5 minutes.
  • Single Layer – Cook the bacon in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches.

How Long to Cook Bacon in the Air Fryer?

Cooking time will vary based on the thickness of your bacon and how crispy you want it. We cook our bacon for about 9 minutes at 350 degrees. The bacon comes out crispy every time.

Do You Have to Flip Bacon When Air Fryer?

Because the air circulates in the air fryer, there is no need to flip the bacon while it is cooking in the air fryer.

How to Store Leftover Bacon

Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The bacon stay fresh for up to 4 days.

Yes, you can freeze bacon. Place the bacon in an freezer safe container and it will stay fresh for up to 3 months.

Instructions

  • Set the temperature for 350 degrees. Preheat for 5 minutes.
