Recipe Tips

  • Making Ahead – If I am making these in advance, I leave the granola off. It will get soggy so it is easy to just add the granola right before eating. However, if I am eating the parfait right away, it’s fine to go ahead and put the granola layers.
  • Mason Jars – We like to make these Yogurt Parfaits in Mason Jars. It shows the pretty layers and easy to grab and go when I head out the door. It also makes it perfect to meal prep with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Yogurt Parfaits Healthy?

Yes, they are! I like to use Greek yogurt for even more protein. The parfaits have the perfect combination of ingredients for the best breakfast.

What is Parfait Made of?

Parfaits have layers of yogurt, fruit and granola. You can make as many layers as you choose!

What Fruit Goes Well with Yogurt?

There are many fruits pair perfectly with yogurt. We have made parfaits with strawberries, blueberries, mango, pineapple and kiwi. Really any fresh berries are a delicious addition.

Can I use Frozen Fruit?

Yes, you can use frozen fruit to make yogurt parfaits. They do provide a different texture but we like using frozen fruit when making ahead of time.

How to Prevent Granola from Getting Soggy?

They best way to prevent the granola from getting soggy is to add it to the yogurt right before serving. If you add the granola and store it in the fridge, the granola does get soggy.

How to Store Yogurt Parfaits

Store the yogurt parfaits in an airtight jar. We like to prepare the yogurt parfaits ahead of time and place in the fridge. They will last about 2-3 days. When ready to serve add your granola for that extra crunch.

Can you use frozen fruit if making them in advance for the week? Do you need to sweeten the fruit before adding or is that a personal preference?
