Dr. Pepper Cherry® BBQ Chicken Recipe
I don’t know about you, but my family has been loving the Summer so far. One of my favorite memories in the Summer as a child is swimming. Now that I am older and have a house filled with children, I just love bringing back my childhood memories in the Summer. We love to swim as a family and just play – even the kiddos like to lay out with me in the sun.
One of our favorite treats as a family is soda – we just love Dr Pepper, and I just knew my family would love the delicious Dr Pepper Cherry®. Instead of drinking it this time, I decided to jazz up one of my favorite crock pot dinners – We made Crock pot Dr. Pepper Cherry® BBQ Chicken sandwiches.
The kids just love them and I love them, because they cook all day (without heating up the kitchen) while I can still play with the children. You may not be able to turn back time, but with Dr Pepper Cherry® and Dr Pepper Vanilla Float®, you can get pretty close. 😉 We celebrate all our favorite moments of summer and throw back the memories, while throwing together an awesome party for the entire family.
These BBQ chicken sandwiches with a Dr Pepper Cherry® twist with do just that. My kids couldn’t believe that they were eating Dr Pepper. 🙂
I have a run bbq chicken recipe for you to try today - dr pepper bbq chicken recipe. You can make this in your crock pot for a delicious chicken sandwich.
- 5-6 frozen boneless chicken breasts (no need to thaw)
- 1 1/3 cups BBQ Sauce (any kind will work)
- 1 cup Dr Pepper Cherry
- 1 onion -chopped or slices (I do chopped to help "hide" them from the kids)
Place chicken in the crock pot.
Pour BBQ sauce and Dr Pepper Cherry Over the chicken.
Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Shred the chicken with two forks and serve on your favorite roll.
