Best Container for Microwave Bread

I used one of these Anchor 2 cup microwave safe bowls to make the keto mug bread recipe in the microwave. You can even use a coffee mug if you have one that is deep enough.

The round shape is perfect for breakfast style sandwiches. If you prefer a square shape for grilled cheese and such, try using a square ramekin.

I’ve been using this recipe for a long time. Recently, it’s been necessary to cook for my BF, so I used this to replace toast. He liked it and then came up with a suggestion of baking in a waffle maker rather than microwave. Oh My! Such an improvement. Great texture. We both agreed this would be the go to method going forward.

Oh great idea! Thank you so much for sharing and thank you for the positive review!

  8. CP @ MI says:

Tried this AM for egg sandwiches. We don’t use a lot of salt in our food, so only used a pinch of salt. Similarly, used a small amount of unsalted butter to toast on the griddle as we toasted on one side and melted cheese on other. Bread held up well and was not fragile at all. Looked, smelled, and tasted similar to an English Muffin. Next will be to try the multitude of variations to mix it up a little. We will keep this in our regular rotation.

I’ve been using your recipe for almost two years and it is a quick great alternate for a former bread lover that cannot have any gluten or carbs in my diet.
To change up the flavor, I’ve added Italian seasoning to the mix or added pumpkin spice or any other suitable seasoning for a variety of favorable breads.

Thanks again for posting this recipe.

This was amazing! I only had almond meal but it worked anyway! I have celiac, so my standard for bread might be in h*ll, but this was amazing toasted…I tried one half with cheese and the other with honey (not keto obviously!) and the honey was my favorite.

It was exactly 90.seconds and I used a 2 cup round glass as you suggested. It puffed up a lot at first!

    Thank you!
