Tortilla Pizza Recipe:

Personalize your favorite tortilla with all your favorite toppings. We eat a lot of pizza at my house. Having tortillas on hand allows my kids to make pizza for a quick dinner. The tortilla cooks with a crispy and delicious texture.

Pizza can be made with many different crust, but using tortilla makes for an easy dinner idea. Tortillas can be purchased to fit any different diets, which makes it easy to please the entire family.

Top the tortilla with your favorite pizza seasoning, sauce, cheese and toppings and baked for a delicious tortilla pizza. This is a perfect idea for a weeknight meal or with friends and family pizza night.

Can you Make Pizza with a tortilla?

Yes, using a tortilla to make a pizza is a quick and easy dinner idea. Tortilla pizza is a great way to personalized your favorite food. You can use different types of tortilla and pile it high with your favorite toppings.

The tortilla is cooked crispy and delicious.  

Ingredients needed - flour tortilla, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, pepperoni

Ingredients: 

  • Flour Tortillas (8-10” burrito size tortillas) 
  • Pizza Sauce 
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Shredded Parmesan Cheese 
  • Sliced Pepperoni 

How to Make Pizza on a Tortilla: 

  • Step 1 – Heat Oven – Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Place 2 baking sheets in the oven while it’s preheating to heat the baking sheets.  
  • Step 2 – Lay our Tortilla – Lay the tortillas out on a flat working surface. 
  • Step 3 – Add your favorite sauce and cheese – Top each tortilla with approximately ¼ cup of the pizza sauce.  Then top with ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese and ⅛ cup shredded parmesan cheese.

  • Step 4 – Add your desired toppings – Top with the sliced pepperoni and any other desired pizza toppings. 
  • Step 5 – Bake Pizza – Carefully place the prepared pizzas on the baking sheets in the oven.  Bake for 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is crispy.

  • Step 6 – Allow pizza to cool – Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes.  Then slice, serve and enjoy.

How Long to Bake Tortilla Pizza:

The great thing about this tortilla pizza is it only takes about 3 minutes to cook the pizza. This allows for the cheese to melt and the tortilla to get crispy.

We like to bake pizza in the oven at 425 degrees. You can use a cast iron skillet or a baking sheet. Feel free to place the tortilla pizza directly on the oven grates.

Tortilla Pizza Topping Ideas:

We find that Gordita style tortillas work best for this recipe as they are sturdier. But any type will work well for this recipe.

These toppings are some of my favorite that can easily purchased at the grocery store. But you can easily use what you have on hand or what you prefer.

  • Pepperoni
  • Sausage
  • Bacon
  • Black Olives
  • Bell Peppers
  • Red Onions
  • Mushrooms
  • Ham
  • Pineapple
  • Spinach
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Slice Jalapenos

Pizza Sauce:

  • Marinara Sauce
  • Alfredo Sauce

Cheese:

  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Colby Cheese

Variations for Tortilla Pizza:

  • Baking Pizza – We usually bake the pizza on a baking sheet, but you can cook the pizza in cast iron skillet.
  • Tortillas – There are many different tortillas that you can use for this recipe. You can even make this recipe with corn tortillas.
  • Olive Oil – For a crispier crust, drizzle the tortilla with some olive oil.
  • Seasoning – When preparing your pizza sauce, you can add in seasoning. You can easily use Italian Seasoning Blend or anything your prefer. Add in red pepper flakes for added spice.

What to Serve with Pizza?

Everyone will enjoy these simple but delicious side dishes for pizza night. They are guaranteed crowd favorites and kid approved. Each recipe takes very little time to prepare and does not cost a ton to make.

How to Store Leftovers:

Refrigerate any leftover pizzas in an air tight container for up to 5 days. This is delicious for lunch the next day and still tastes delicious.

We rarely have any leftovers, but if you do it taste great the next day.

We make homemade pizza at least once a week. Making crispy tortilla pizza is always a family favorite and is delicious. Tortilla pizza is a great way to personalize your favorite foods.

The tortilla cooks perfectly crispy and golden while the toppings and cheese are ooey gooey. Our family is saving money while enjoying a delicious pizza dinner at home.
