Variations Ideas

  • Baking Pizza – We usually bake the pizza on a baking sheet, but you can cook the pizza in cast iron skillet.
  • Tortillas – There are many different tortillas that you can use for this recipe. You can even make this recipe with corn tortillas or whole wheat tortilla. You may also love to make Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe.
  • Olive Oil – For a crispier crust, drizzle the tortilla with some olive oil.
  • Seasoning – When preparing your pizza sauce, you can add in seasoning. You can easily use Italian Seasoning Blend or anything your prefer. Add in red pepper flakes for added spice.

How to Make Pizza on a Tortilla

  • Step 1 – Heat Oven – Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Place 2 baking sheets in the oven while it’s preheating to heat the baking sheets.  
  • Step 2 – Lay our Tortilla – Lay the tortillas out on a flat working surface. 
  • Step 3 – Add your favorite sauce and cheese – Top each tortilla with approximately ¼ cup of the pizza sauce.  Then top with ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese and ⅛ cup shredded parmesan cheese.

  • Step 4 – Add your desired toppings – Top with the sliced pepperoni and any other desired pizza toppings.

  • Step 5 – Bake Pizza – Carefully place the prepared pizzas on the baking sheets in the oven.  Bake for 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is crispy.
  • Step 6 – Allow pizza to cool – Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes.  Then slice, serve and enjoy. 

How Long to Bake Tortilla Pizza

The great thing about this tortilla pizza is it only takes about 3 minutes to cook the pizza. This allows for the cheese to melt and the tortilla to get crispy.

We like to bake pizza in the oven at 425 degrees. You can use a cast iron skillet or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Feel free to place the tortilla pizza directly on the oven grates.

Tortilla Pizza Topping Ideas

We find that Gordita style tortillas work best for this recipe as they are sturdier. But any type will work well for this recipe.

These toppings are some of my favorite that can easily purchased at the grocery store. But you can easily use what you have on hand or what you prefer.
