Blackstone griddle pizza recipe
Pizza is always a popular menu item at our house. The kids never get tired of it and we all enjoy it.
We recently started to cook pizza on our new Blackstone. Homemade pizza is even better on the griddle.
It is really easy to cook without worrying about the pizza dough sticking. The griddle surface makes it effortless to grill pizza for the perfect pizza every time.
You don’t need a fancy Blackstone pizza oven, just a regular Blackstone griddle to make this recipe.
The dome lid and griddle hood help to create the perfect pizza. Let’s get started making this delicious recipe.
Why we love this recipe:
- Budget friendly. This recipe is significantly cheaper than pizza take out.
- Delicious. Each bite is cooked to perfection and so amazing.
- Easy. The entire recipe is effortless to prepare and takes just minutes. You can get dinner on the table very fast.
Ingredients:
- Pre-made 12″ Pizza Crust
- Pizza Sauce . We love this easy homemade pizza sauce recipe.
- Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
- Sliced Pepperoni
How to cook pizza on Blackstone griddle:
- Heat up the grill. Preheat the Blackstone grill over medium high heat (approximately 350 degrees F). This is the perfect temperature for a great pizza.
- Warm the pepperoni. Sauté the pepperonis for 30 seconds on each side to heat up the pepperoni. This extra step only takes a few seconds and takes the pizza up a level.
- Then assemble the pizzas. Spread approximately ⅓ cup pizza sauce on each pre-made pizza crust. Then top with the mozzarella cheese and the heated up pepperonis. I prepared my pizzas on a cutting board so that it was easy to slide them onto the grill.
- Cover and cook the pizza. Then slide the prepared pizzas onto the grill. Cover and cook for 6-12 minutes until the bottom of the crusts are golden brown and the cheese is melted on top.
- Allow to sit. Carefully remove the pizzas from the grill, let them sit for a few minutes. The hardest part of this recipe is waiting to cut it. Then they are ready to slice, serve and enjoy!
How to store:
Refrigerate any leftover pizzas in an air tight container for up to 5 days. This is delicious for lunch the next day and still tastes delicious.

Can I cook a frozen pizza on a Blackstone?
Yes, you absolutely can. It is best to allow the pizza thaw first. Cooking a frozen pizza directly on the griddle can result in the center being uncooked.
I recommend thawing first and placing on preheated griddle at 400 degrees. You can place the pizza on a pizza stone.
It should only take about 5 to 6 minutes. Check the crust every couple of minutes to ensure it does not burn.
It cooks pretty quickly so you do not want to overcook it.
Blackstone griddle pizza tips:
- Pizza Sauce. You can use store bought or make homemade pizza sauce. Feel free to use what you prefer.
- You can use a pizza peel. This makes it easy to slide the pizza right on to the griddle. If you do not have one, try using a cutting board.
- Temperature Gun. The pizza is best cooked at 350 degrees. I prefer to use a temperature gun to make sure it is ready for the pizza.
- Personal Pizzas. Feel free to use smaller individual personal size pizza crusts. Everyone can make their own pizza and customize with toppings.
- Cheese. We used shredded mozzarella but you can use any type of cheese you prefer. Colby Jack is delicious for a blend of cheeses. I also like sliced fresh mozzarella.
Enjoy a family pizza night.
We cook pizzas on the griddle about once a week. Everyone loves it and it is so easy.
The crusty is perfectly crispy and golden while the toppings and cheese are ooey gooey. Our family is saving money while enjoying a delicious pizza dinner at home.
What toppings do you plan to try? You can’t go wrong with this simple recipe. It is on our permanent menu plan rotation because we all love it.
