How to Make Pizza on Blackstone
- Step 1 – Heat up the grill. Preheat the Blackstone grill over medium high heat (approximately 350 degrees F). This is the perfect temperature for a great pizza and heats in about 3-5 minutes.
- Step 2 – Warm the pepperoni. Sauté the pepperonis for 30 seconds on each side to heat up the pepperoni. This extra step only takes a few seconds and takes the pizza up a level.
Step 3 – Then assemble the pizzas. Spread approximately ⅓ cup pizza sauce on each precooked dough.
Step 4 – Then top with the mozzarella cheese and the heated up pepperonis. I prepared my pizzas on a cutting board so that it was easy to slide them onto the grill.
Step 5 – Cover and cook the pizza. Then slide the prepared pizzas onto the flat top grill. Cover with a Dome Lid and cook for 6-12 minutes until the bottom of the crispy crust are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbling on top.
Step 6 – Allow to sit. Carefully remove the pepperoni pizza from the grill, let them sit for a few minutes on a wire rack. The hardest part of this recipe is waiting to cut it. Then they are ready to slice, serve topped with parmesan cheese and enjoy!
Expert Tips and Tricks
- Pizza Sauce. You can use store bought or make homemade pizza sauce. Feel free to use what you prefer.
- You can use a pizza peel. This makes it easy to slide the pizza right on to the griddle. If you do not have one, try using a cutting board.
- Temperature Gun. The pizza is best cooked at 350 degrees. I prefer to use a temperature gun to make sure it is ready for the pizza.
- Personal Pizzas. Feel free to use smaller individual personal size pizza crusts. Everyone can make their own pizza and customize with toppings.
- Cheese. We used shredded mozzarella but you can use any type of cheese you prefer. Colby Jack is delicious for a blend of cheeses. I also like sliced fresh mozzarella.
- Vegetables. If you want to add veggies to your pizza, saute them on the flat top surface with olive oil. Then add to the pizza for a delicious topping.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you absolutely can. It is best to allow the pizza thaw first. Cooking a frozen pizza directly on the griddle can result in the center being uncooked.
I recommend thawing first and placing on preheated griddle at 400 degrees. You can place the pizza on a pizza stone. It should only take about 5 to 6 minutes. Check the crust every couple of minutes to ensure it does not burn. It cooks pretty quickly so you do not want to overcook it.
Store any leftover pizzas in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the refrigerator. This is delicious for lunch the next day and still tastes delicious.
