This recipe sounds fancy but it really is so simple to make.  It is one of the easiest recipes and the beef is tender and amazing.

If you need a quick dinner idea, try this beef tips recipe for a meal everyone is sure to love. We cook this frequently and it is a hit.

The beef is so tender and delicious that everyone will think it was slow cooked all day. It is hard to believe that it only took 20 minutes in the pressure cooker.

The entire recipe taste amazing with the cream of mushroom soup and onion soup mix. It creates the best broth and makes the meal so delicious.

The best weeknight meal!

It is the perfect meal to make when you don’t have much time but everyone is hungry and needs dinner. We are always running from various activites and this meal comes together so quickly.

I can literally come home and throw this together in 20 minutes. Take out even takes longer than that by the time you drive and get it.

You won’t even be tempted with take out with this easy recipe. It is so delicious and absolutely one of the easiest recipes to make. Promise!

What is Beef Burgundy?

Beef Burgundy also know as beef bourguignon as being a French Beef Stew made by Julia Child. Some beef burgundy have a long list of ingredients and take several hours to prepare.

We love this recipe because it is essentially beef tips with Lipton onion soup mix mixed with broth and cream of mushroom soup.

If you have been around long enough, you know that I am to lazy for a complicated recipe. That is why I love this recipe. It has simple ingredients and a simple process.

What kind of beef do you use for Beef Burgundy?

You can buy round steak and cut it into bite size pieces instead of using stew meat. It is not necessary to use only stew meat. You can also use a chuck roast.

We have used stew meat or even sirloin cut up for this recipe. Feel free to use what you prefer and cut it into bite size pieces instead of using stew meat.

Ingredients needed - stew meat, onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, cooking wine, corn starch, egg noodles

How to make Beef Burgundy in the Instant Pot:

  • Place the beef in the bottom of the Instant Pot.
  • In a medium size bowl whisk together the mushroom soup, red wine, broth, and the broth. Stir to combine.

  • Add the beef. Pour over the beef.
  • Add the lid and seal it. Set the valve to sealing.

  • Set the pressure time for 15 minutes and cook on high pressure. Allow for a natural release for 10 minutes and then release the remaining pressure by doing a quick release. Cooking time could vary.
  • Switch the Instant Pot to the sauté setting. Whisk together the cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl. Stir this mixture into the Instant Pot and heat for 3-5 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  • Serve the brown bits and gravy over the noodles. Season with salt and pepper.

The Instant pot I use:

I am using an 8 quart Instant pot but you can use a 6 quart.  I am not exaggerating when I say pressure cooking truly has changed meal time around here. We love ours and it makes recipes even easier.

We use our instant pot for everything. It has saved me so much time and money.

Can I make Beef Burgundy in the Crock Pot?

Yes, we love making this recipe in the crock pot. It is just as easy to toss in your crock pot frozen and come home to dinner done.

What to serve with Instant Pot Beef Burgundy?

  • Serve it over pasta – This meal is delicious served over egg noodles. This is our favorite but any type of pasta will do. We have used penne or elbow before and it was just as delicious. Everyone enjoyed it.
  • White or Brown Rice – We have even served this over rice and it was so good.
  • Mashed Potatoes – Mashed potatoes is probably my family’s favorite side with this recipe.
  • Add a Salad – You might also want to make a simple side salad if you have the time and ingredients on hand.  
  • Serve with a Vegetable – Delicious Roasted Green Beans are also tasty with this recipe.
  • Add in Mushrooms – This recipe is so good with mushrooms added in.
  • Make it Low Carb – If you are following a low carb diet, enjoy the beef without rice or potatoes.

Yum! It is the best comfort food and with only 4 ingredients it’s just so easy to make Instant Pot Beef Bourguignon. We don’t have time for complicated recipes that call for a ton of ingredients and a lot of work. This simple recipe is a winner around here!

How to store:

This recipe is so good leftover. We place in individual containers and place in the refrigerators. Leftovers are good for 3-4 days.

This is one of my husbands favorite meals to have leftover. It is hearty and filling, perfect lunch for a busy day.

Recipe Notes

You can easily swap out pasta for rice or mashed mashed potatoes making this a no stress recipe.
Refrigerate the leftovers in an air tight container for up to 5 days.
