We love making waffles for an easy breakfast recipe. Everyone always loves them and they are perfect served with Air Fryer Bacon, sausage or a Fruit Salad Recipe.

What are Pink Waffles?

Pink Waffles takes your basic waffle recipe to the next level. These fun and festive waffles are made with simple ingredients but with added pink food coloring. The waffles are cooked with a crispy edges and soft center in a waffle maker.

Ingredients needed - flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cocoa powder, eggs, buttermilk, butter, vanilla, pink food coloring, cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk

How to Make Pink Waffles

Step 1 – Whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cocoa powder.  Set aside in a mixing bowl. If you prefer you can make this with gluten free flour.

Step 2 – In a separate bowl, beat together the wet ingredients. Mix the eggs, buttermilk, butter and vanilla on low speed until combined. Add in 5-7 drops of pink food coloring until the mixture is pink.

Step 3 – Then pour the buttermilk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.  Some lumps are ok.  Let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes.

Step 4 – Preheat a waffle iron and spray it with a non-stick cooking spray. Add the batter to the waffle iron and cook according to the waffle iron’s instructions. 

  • Step 6 – While the waffles are cooking, beat together the glaze ingredients with a hand held or stand up mixture until blended and combined. 
  • Step 7 – Serve the pink waffles with the glaze drizzled on top and enjoy.

Expert Tips

  • Combine Ingredients – Combine the ingredients with a hand mixer or a stand mixer until combine. Make sure to not overmix as it could change the texture of the waffles.
  • Waffle Maker – Before pouring the batter onto the waffle maker, make sure it has been preheated and sprayed with cooking spray. This helps for remove the waffle easily and makes cleanup a breeze.
