I love when the cooler weather hits because that means we start making all the Fall Desserts! These Slow Cooker Apples are always on the list as they also make a great side dish too! The apples cook so tender and with the best flavor with the combination of the warm spices.

- Butter – We used unsalted butter

How to Make Slow Cooker Apples

Step 1 – In at least a 4 quart crock pot, add in the apples, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cornstarch. Gently stir to combine all the ingredients.

Step 2 – Dice the butter into small pieces and place them on top of the apples in the slow cooker.
Step 3 – Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours until the apples are tender (stir once during the cooking time). Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

- ⅓ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon Nutmeg
- 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter

- Combining Ingredients – Gently combine the ingredients to ensure that the apples are covered with the spices.
- Cooking Time – When slow cooking the apples, cooking time will vary. You will know that the apples are finished cooking when the apples are tender.
Flavor Variations
- Granola – When there is about 30 minutes left during cooking time, top the apples with ½ cup of granola or oat streusel. You can even top with chopped pecans or walunts.
- Caramel Flavor – Drizzle caramel sauce over the top and add 1 Tbsp of maple syrup and combine with the other ingredients.
- Chai Spice – If you love Chai Spice, swap the cinnamon and nutmeg with chai spice blend.
- Holiday Side – Add in ½ cup of cranberries in the final hour for the best holiday side.

These Slow Cooker Apples can be served in many different ways. We love to serve for breakfast stirred into my Crock Pot Oatmeal or topped on Fruit and Yogurt Parfait or Pumpkin Waffles with Easy Homemade Granola Recipe.

Make sure to use a firm apple such as granny smith apple, honeycrisp, Fuji, pink lady or Gala apples are great variations.
Store the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-5 days in the refrigerator.
