What is Crack Chicken Dip?

Crack chicken dip is an addicting dip that is perfect for you next game day party. Crack dip is made with simple ingredients that include leftover chicken, cream cheese, bacon and cheese.

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Chicken, shredded
  • Cream Cheese, softened
  • Sour Cream
  • Dry Ranch Dressing Mix
  • Slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (divided)
  • Shredded Colby Jack Cheese, divided
  • Green Onions, chopped(divided)

How to Make Crack Chicken Dip:

  • Step 1 – Heat Oven – Preheat oven to 400ºF. Spray a 2-qt baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • Step 2 – Combine Ingredients – In a large bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream. Add in 9 slices of bacon, ranch seasoning, and 1 ½ cup shredded cheese. Stir until well combined. 
  • Step 3 – Stir in Chicken – Stir in the cooked shredded chicken and 2 green onions. 
  • Step 4 – Spread into Baking Dish – Transfer mixture to the prepared dish. Top with the remaining ½ cup shredded cheese. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  • Step 5 – Garnish – Top with remaining diced green onions and crumbled bacon.
  • Step 6 – Serve with crackers, chips, celery, or bread.

Chicken Crack Dip Recipe Tips:

  • Cream Cheese – We recommend that the cream cheese is softened prior to mixing with the other ingredients. This allows for the mixture to be smooth and creamy.
  • Spreading into Pan – When spreading the ingredients into the baking dish, make sure to evenly spread it. This allows for the dip to cook evenly.
  • Baking Chicken Dip – Bake crack chicken dip until golden brown on top.
  • Slow Cooker – This recipe can easily be cooked in the crock pot if you prefer. Cook on low for 2 hours and then top with green onions and bacon.

Can you Freeze Crack Chicken Dip?

Yes, you can freeze crack chicken dip cooked or uncooked. If freezing cooked, make sure it has cooled to room temperature before storing. If stored properly in a freezer safe container, it will last up to 3 months.

You can also store this dip uncooked in a freezer safe container. Then when you are ready to bake, you can bake from frozen. You will need to add in more cooking time.

Can Crack Chicken Dip Be Made in Advance?

Yes, this is the perfect dip to make in advance. Just prepare and place in the fridge covered. Then when ready to bake, place in the oven. You may need to add in cooking time since it has been in the fridge.
