Variations Ideas:

  • Fresh Spinach – You can use fresh spinach if you prefer. But it does take some extra steps to prepare this dip. It will need to chopped, cooked, and remove an excessive moisture. But a great variation to frozen spinach.
  • Garlic Cloves – To enhance the garlic flavor, use garlic cloves instead of minced garlic.
  • Add Meat – For a hearty dip, you can add in a protein. Mix in chicken, steak, or shredded pork.
  • Mayo – We think this dip is great with cream cheese, but you can add in mayonnaise and sour cream. We have even used Greek Yogurt for a healthier alternative.
  • Spicy – If you want a spicier taste, add in a teaspoon of red pepper flakes.

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray an 8X8 baking dish with a non-stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2 – Stir together the cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise in a large mixing bowl.
Combine cream cheese, sour cream and mayo in a bowl
  • Step 3 – Then stir in the spinach, artichoke hearts, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan Cheese, garlic and black pepper.
Stir in spinach, artichoke hearts, cheese and seasoning with the mayo mixture
  • Step 4 – Spread the mixture into an even layer in the prepared 8X8 baking dish.
Spread the artichoke mixture into baking dish
  • Step 5 – Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dip is hot and bubbly.  Serve warm with your favorite dippers and enjoy!

Recipe Tips:

  • Spinach – When preparing this dip, make sure to thaw and remove excess liquid before combining ingredients.
  • Cream Cheese – For best results, make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing with other ingredients. This helps the texture to be smooth and creamy. We think this recipe is best made with full fat cream cheese.
