Greek Pasta Salad Recipe

I love pasta salad and trying new variations. Pasta Salads go with just about anything and make the perfect dish to bring to potlucks, BBQ’s and more. This easy Greek Pasta Salad Recipe can really feed a crowd on a budget.

The pasta helps to stretch all of the ingredients and you can make a huge bowl for very little. Whenever I make this, everyone wants to know the recipe. Greek Pasta Salad is a must try!

You can’t go wrong with pasta salad and this Greek variety is SO delicious. The great thing about pasta salad is it really goes with anything.

We love to grill hot dogs and hamburgers and have this Greek Pasta Salad as a side. Oh and this is the best coleslaw and delicious for your hot dogs.

How to store Greek pasta salad?

I like to store the pasta salad in a clear bowl so you can see all of the pretty colors. The veggies really look gorgeous in the salad.

The pasta salad is pretty in a  glass bowl or even  a trifle dish is pretty.

Now, if I am taking this pasta salad to a pot luck or cookout, I like to use one of these plastic bowls with lids. These are so handy for traveling and the lid keeps everything mess free.

How long is Greek pasta salad good for in the fridge?

Typically pasta salad is good for 3-5 days in the refrigerator.  I actually like to make the Greek Pasta Salad the night before to let the flavors blend.

Greek pasta salad ingredients:

  • rotini pasta (penne or bowtie will work too)
  • English cucumber
  • grape tomatoes
  • orange bell pepper (red or green will work too)
  • pitted olives
  • feta cheese
  • red onion
  • greek vinaigrette dressing

How to make greek pasta salad:

Cook pasta until al dente. Rinse under cold water and cool completely.

In a large bowl combine pasta, and all the other ingredients.

Stir to combine.

Store, covered,  in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Serve.

Notes: I like to stir in about ¼ cup extra dressing right before I serve it and sprinkle with more feta cheese. It looks fancier at a potluck and also enhances the flavor. Enjoy!

What is good with pasta salad?

More tips for this Greek pasta salad with feta:

Now this recipe is already incredibly simple but there are a few tips to make it even easier I wanted to share. This recipe calls for diced onions and bell peppers.

Another time saving tip is to use a small food chopper or food processor to quickly and easily chop the onions and peppers.

If you do not have one of these, I highly recommend them. They are such a time saver and you make cooking so fast and easy.

After you have what you need for the Greek Salad, freeze the rest for other recipes. I usually just chop the entire vegetable and freeze what I don’t need.

It’s so nice to be able to just take the diced onion out of the freezer for recipes. This is how I meal prep. It’s so quick and easy and helps get dinner on the table fast.

Sometimes we also use red wine vinaigrette. The red wine vinegar is good with the Greek dressing.  I have also used red wine vinegar lemon juice mixture and it was fabulous.

Add more or less veggies to your liking. This pasta salad is so easy to make based on your family. I love red onion so I add extra of that.
