Healthy banana bread recipe
My kids like eating bananas but sometimes I think they intentionally leave bananas sit on the counter with the hopes I will make banana bread. I have my go-to banana bread recipe, but I have been wanting to try a healthy banana bread recipe.
Now, I wasn’t planning on making a sugar-free, calorie-free banana bread, I mean it is still bread after all. However, I just wanted a healthier option with maybe a little less fat and calories.

Ingredients you need:
- granulated sugar
- butter or margarine
- ripe bananas
- milk
- sour cream
- egg whites
- flour
- baking soda
- salt
As you can see, this recipe is lightly different than my other recipe, but you are not missing out on the sugar. You could easily swap out the sugar too with something else to make it even healthier, but I think my husband would have cried if I got rid of the sugar completely. 🙂

How do I get bananas to ripen?
If you have bananas that are too green, there are a few things you can do to help them ripen faster. Place them in a brown paper bag and this will help the banana to get ripe.
If you want to speed it up even more, place an apple in the bag with them. This will further speed up the process.
This is a simple trick that works great. Give it a try!
