Expert Tips

  • Cooked Shredded Chicken – Make Slow Cooker Chicken Breasts or Boil Chicken Breasts to make this chicken wrap. We actually keep shredded chicken in the freezer and it makes this meal even quicker. Learn how to shred chicken easily with your KitchenAid Mixer. Save time and shred a ton of meat in just seconds.
  • Adding Chicken Filling – Evenly divide the chicken mixture onto the flour tortillas. Make sure to not overfill as it will make it difficult to wrap the tortilla or it may cause it to tear.
  • Warm Tortillas – I have found that warming the tortilla up slightly helps to easily wrap the tortilla around the chicken mixture.

Variations Ideas

  • Chicken – You can also use shredded chicken. This is a great way to use leftovers. We have even used rotisserie chicken. Fried chicken strips would be a great option.
  • Tortilla – Use a flour tortilla that works best for you. We like using burrito-sized tortillas for best results. The even have spinach wraps for a healthier choice.
  • Sauce – This chicken bacon wraps recipe is even delicious with other types of sauce. Top the ingredients with hot sauce or buffalo sauce for a delicious substitutions.

What Do you Put on a Wrap?

We top the chicken and bacon with lettuce, tomato, cheese and ranch. You can really add anything you like. Onions would be good and we add a few diced ones sometimes. If you like veggies, add things like cucumbers or carrots.

It is a great way to sneak in extra veggies with the kids. They really don’t seem to mind the veggies as long as we have lots of ranch.

What to Serve with Chicken Wraps?

The kids like when I make  Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries Recipe. We also love this Classic Italian Pasta Salad Recipe.

Fruit is always an easy and delicious side. We love to make this tropical fruit salad. If am serving this at parties or for Game Day, I like to put out a basket of chips for everyone to grab for something quick. Cut up veggies also work.

This really is such an easy meal for lunch or dinner. Everyone will love it!

Frequently Asked Questions

How to Fold a Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap

Place the tortilla on a flat surface and top with the chicken mixture. Then start by folding in the sides inwards. Then begin rolling the tortilla away from you to close in the edges of the tortilla. You may need to secure with a toothpick if serving at a party.

Can I Make Chicken Wraps Ahead of Time?

Yes, you can. However, I would wait to add the ranch until time to serve. It can make the lettuce soggy if you do this too early.

How to Store Leftover Wraps

Store the leftovers wraps in an airtight container. You can also wrap in plastic wrap and foil to store in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for 3-4 days. We recommend leaving the dressing off if you plan on storing the leftovers.

As a senior aged widow, these are a perfect size meal for me. I made them with your recipe, but for a change up, I’ve also, just to add a little crunch for a texture change, substituted the chicken with a precooked breaded chicken tender, cut into pieces, or even just wrapped it up whole like the major fast food places are now serving these type wraps. Taste just like them, without having to order or set in a take-out line, and pay $3 or more for each one. Thanks for a great recipe.

Great idea to use leftover chicken. We do tons of grilling and smoking throughout the year especially in the Summer months. Great way to use left over chicken. Sometimes we buy a rotisserie chicken and shred it up for chicken wraps.

Gloria – yes! Definitely! We love this with leftover chicken! Yum!

Chicken salad is a staple in my house as is the tuna salad. I work crazy hours and its a grab and go meal that I make almost every week I don’t use wraps but I do stuff bell peppers with it and cucumbers that I scoop the seeds out of. I use rotisserie chicken most of the time or canned chicken. Easy delicious quick and protein packed.

Alison – Great ideas! We love it for quick meals too.

Best tip ever for shredding chicken!
I immediately cooked my one chicken breast and right from the stove top used my mini food processor to shred. I’ll certainly be using this process when I have much larger portions for chicken enchiladas. Thank you!

Very good and easy. I had leftover diced chicken with red peppers, which added nice flavor and worked well. Warmed up the tortillas and chicken a little as well. The ranch dressing was delish, I look forward to trying it with blue cheese next time. Thanks for sharing ?
