Place the leftover brisket inside an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will last up to 4 days if stored properly.
How to freeze brisket:
Freeze the brisket inside a freezer container up to 2 months. You can use a container or freezer bag.
I prefer to use freezer bags when possible because they freeze flat. This will take up less room in the freezer. I am always running out of room so it really helps.
It is also a good idea to wrap the meat in plastic wrap and aluminum foil before placing inside the bag. This will keep it fresh in the freezer.
When you are ready to eat, allow it to thaw in the fridge overnight.
How to Reheat Brisket
Brisket is actually very delicious reheated. However, if you aren’t careful you could end up with dry brisket.

Yes, I think so. I would probably cut the 2 briskets into smaller pieces just so it would call fit and make sure that they are fully thawed out before adding to the crock pot. Let me know how it turns out!
Do you think it would fit in a 6 qt if the recipe were doubled? I’ll be cooking for around 10 adults. Thank you!
Sorry for the confusion. It’s 1/2 Onion, chopped – I’ll update the recipe. Thank you!
The recipe calls for i.2 chopped onions. Is that 1.2 cup? I’m not sure how to calculate .2 onions. I know it’s probably a dumb question but I’m new to this. Sorry
Thanks for sharing!
I also adjusted some ingredients, halved the barbecue sauce, chilli powder, salt because I thought that would best suit our tastes and this was amazing. I think this is a great flexible recipe.
I cut the paprika, salt, and bbq sauce in half. It came out perfect, but adjust to your own tastes. There’s probably a lot of room for adjustment on those.
After cooking, I put the brisket on a cutting board and dumped the liquid into a separate bowl. After shredding, I put the meat back in the pot and added about a cup or so of the liquid back to the meat. Left it on warm.
Everyone complimented the result. Easy recipe and I love that the author knows that searing and rubbing ingredients in is basically pointless for a shredded brisket.
What about 4# of beef
Yes, you can definitely make this one in the crock pot. Put all the ingredients in the crock pot and cook on low for approximately 9-10 hours. Thanks!
I don’t have an instant pot and can’t afford one. How could you make this in a crock pot? ?????
