Variations Ideas

  • Pineapple – Sometimes, we like to add fresh pineapple to this recipe. It goes so well with the other ingredients and adds even more flavor. It adds a bit of sweetness and pairs nicely with the jalapeño and mango.
  • Add Avocado – Dice an avocado and add to your salsa for a new twist. It is very good and is perfect for snacking. You can also top chicken, fish or tacos with it for great flavor.
  • Peaches – Peaches can be substituted for the ripe mangos.
  • Black Beans – Add black beans to the salsa for a heartier salsa recipe.
  • Bell Peppers – Red peppers are great but try using yellow or green bell peppers as well. Sometimes, I use all 3 and it looks so pretty with the onion cilantro mixture.
  • Onions – We use red onion but any type you have on hand will be delicious.

Expert Tips

  • Prepare Vegetables – This recipe like many calls for diced onions and bell peppers. Another time saving tip is to use a small food chopper or food processor to quickly and easily chop the onions and peppers. You can also chop with a sharp knife on a cutting board.
  • Dice Ingredients – For best results and for easy serving, chop the fruit and vegetables into bite size pieces.
  • Mangos – We like to peel the mangos before dicing for best results.

Oh my WOW! I made this mango salsa last weekend and it was a HIT! I put it all in my food processor, so it wasn’t pretty and chopped, but it still was incredible! Thank you Carrie for all of these amazing recipes!

Sooo tasty, especially on a hot summer afternoon! Followed directions as written, except I didn’t remove jalapeno seeds. I like spicy! Let it sit in fridge for a few hours; the flavor is really amped up. Served with homemade baked tortilla chips. Will definitely make again!
