This is a great way to use chicken and a healthier option than ground beef. My kids can’t really tell the difference because of all the delicious seasonings.

We use a cast iron skillet and it’s perfect for this recipe. I have the Lodge cast iron skillet but you can see all the different brands here.

Cilantro lime chicken tacos ingredients:
- ground chicken
- olive oil
- tomato sauce
- cilantro (see How to Cut Cilantro)
- limes, juiced
- taco seasoning ( Iuse a homemade Taco Seasoning)
- tortillas
How to make cilantro lime chicken tacos:
In a large skillet brown the ground chicken over medium high heat in the olive oil.
Once brown, stir in the tomato sauce, ½ of the cilantro, taco seasoning, and the lime juice.

Cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes so the flavors combine.
Spoon onto tortillas. Top with more cilantro and your favorite taco toppings. It is that easy.

This easy skillet recipe is so versatile that you can make tons of substitutions and it’ll still taste amazing. You can make this with traditional ground beef or with chicken breasts as well.

Ground turkey is also a great option for this taco recipe. If I’m in a hurry, I usually use whatever I have in my refrigerator or what is on sale at my local grocery store.
You can add salsa instead of the tomato sauce. Just use what you have.
In addition, using different types of salsa can change this recipe quite a bit. For instance, since I’m usually serving kids, I choose a mild salsa that is on sale. However, if you love spicy food, you can substitute this for a spicier salsa.

Used as base inspiration I guess! 1lb ground turkey in oiled crock pot, this recipe’s measurements halved of taco seasoning, cilantro, and lime juice; 1/2-3/4C chicken broth – 8hrs low including Xhrs without lid just to evaporate broth. It came out so delicious!
