Variations Ideas:

  • Pasta – We used elbow noodles for this recipe, but you can easily change to what you prefer. Mix in penne pasta, rigatoni noodles, or any small pasta that you prefer.
  • Change Meat – Feel free to substitute the ground beef for ground turkey. You can also mix ground turkey and beef together.
  • Vegetables – This is a great meal to sneak in veggies. We have added in slice mushrooms and bell pepper into this creamy pasta dish for added flavor.
  • Cheese – You can even change the cheese to what you prefer. We have added Cheez whiz and Velveeta for a delicious twist on this recipe.

Step by Step Instructions:

Cooking the meat with the veggies in the skillet

Step 1 – Add the ground beef, onion, green pepper and minced garlic to a large skillet.  Cook over medium heat until the beef is browned and no longer pink.  Then drain any fat and return the skillet to the stove top.

Adding in the sauce to the meat mixture

Step 2 – Next mix in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and the beef broth.

Pouring in the milk into the meat mixture

Step 3 – Then slowly stir in the milk to the ground beef mixture.

Stirring in the pasta in the meat mixture

Step 4 – Bring the mixture to a boil then add in the pasta. Reduce the heat to low and cover. Cook until the noodles are tender stirring occasionally approximately 7-10 minutes.

Adding the cheese in the cooked pasta mixture

Step 5 – Stir in the 2 types of cheeses.

Stirring the ingredients together in a skillet with a wooden spoon

Step 6 – Continue stirring until cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy!

Recipe Tips:

  • Hamburger Meat – Cook the ground beef with the seasoning in a skillet over medium-high heat. Make sure to drain any grease before mixing in the other ingredients.
  • Noodles – The pasta will cook in the sauce that is added. There is no need to cook it separately.
  • Combining Ingredients – Once all the ingredients have been combined in the skillet, continue to stir. This helps to blend everything and for the cheese to melt.
  • Crock Pot – You can easily make crock pot Philly cheesesteak pasta instead of on the skillet. I would still cook ground beef separately and then add the ingredients together in the slow cooker. Cook on low for about 4 hours.

Yes you can freeze it. However, I would make sure the pasta is cooked al-dente so they are not too soft when you reheat them.
