We eat a lot of chicken and I’m always looking for ways to jazz up plain chicken. This recipe definitely takes chicken to the next level! I love recipes that can be served several different ways. It makes my family think they are eating different meals.
This Slow Cooker Mississippi Chicken swaps beef for lean chicken breasts yet keeps the same flavor formula! Buttery ranch seasoning and tangy pepperoncini peppers results in melt-in-your-mouth shredded and juicy chicken.
Ingredients

- Skinless Chicken Breasts – You can also use chicken thighs
- Peperoncini Peppers – Make sure to add in the pepperoncini juice
- Ranch Dressing Mix – Use a ranch seasoning packet or make Ranch Seasoning Mix Recipe
- Butter – We used salted butter

How to Make Crock Pot Mississippi Chicken

Step 1 – Add the chicken breasts to the bottom of the slow cooker.

Step 2 – Sprinkle the ranch packet over the top of the chicken.

Step 3 – Pour the jar of Peppercinis over the top.

Step 4 – Then place the stick of butter on top. Cover with lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or you can cook on high for 3-4 hours.
Step 5 – After the cook time, shred the chicken with 2 forks and mix the chicken into the liquid in the crock pot. Stir and serve over egg noodles, rice or make a delicious sandwich.

Crock Pot Mississippi Chicken
Ingredients
- 5 boneless skinless chicken breasts large
- 8 oz jar pepperoncini peppers (with juice)
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- ½ cup butter (1 stick)
Instructions
- Add the chicken breasts to the bottom of the slow cooker. (I used a 6 quart crock pot.)
- Sprinkle ranch packet over the top of the chicken and pour the jar of peppercinis on top.
- Place the stick of butter on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- When it is ready, take two forks and shred the chicken.
- Stir and serve.
