Change up your Taco Tuesday menu and make these Taco Sliders. These sliders are loaded with seasoned taco meat and cheese and baked in Hawaiian Rolls.
We love slider recipes for any occasion and they are the ultimate party food. We make them for an afternoon lunch or when we have family gatherings. They are baked to perfection with a crispy texture and cheesy, meaty center.

What are Taco Sliders?
After preparing taco meat, Hawaiian Rolls are layered with seasoned ground beef and shredded cheese. Then the top of the rolls are placed on top of the cheese.
Melted garlic butter is spread over the top of the rolls and then sliders are then baked.

Ingredients
- Ground Beef – Feel free to also use ground turkey or a mixture of both.
- Taco Seasoning – Use store bought or make Easy Homemade Taco Seasoning Recipe
- Salsa – Use any type of jar salsa
- White Onion – Finely diced onion or use dried onion flakes
- Hawaiian Rolls – Feel free to use any type of Slider Rolls

Substitutions and Variations
- Garlic – We used garlic salt in this recipe, but you can use garlic powder.
- Change the Cheese – Feel free to use different types of cheese. Pepper jack or Colby Monterrey Jack Cheese for a delicious change.
- Slider Buns – We used Hawaiian Rolls, but you can use any type of rolls.
How to Make Taco Sliders
- Step 1 – Cook Taco Meat – Add the ground beef and diced onions to a large skillet and heat over medium high heat. Brown the beef and onions, breaking up the meat into small pieces until the onions are translucent and beef is cooked through (5-7 minutes).
- Step 2 – Mix in Taco Seasoning and Salsa – Add in the taco seasoning and the salsa and bring the mixture to a low boil.
- Step 3 – Remove Heat – Then remove the pan from the heat.
- Step 4 – Heat Oven and Prepare Baking dish – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 9X13 baking pan with a non-stick cooking spray.
- Step 5 – Layer beef and cheese on rolls – Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise and place the bottom of the rolls in the prepared baking dish. Spread the taco beef mixture over the bottom of the rolls and top with the shredded cheese. The top with the other half of the rolls.
- Step 6 – Mix Melted Butter Mixture – Stir together the melted butter and garlic salt. Brush this mixture over the top of the buns.
- Step 7 – Bake Sliders – Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 15-20 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for 2-5 minutes to brown the top of the Hawaiian rolls.
- Step 8 – Serve and Enjoy – Remove from the oven and top with the chopped cilantro. Let the sliders cool slightly. Then serve warm with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
Expert Tips
- Baking Sliders – Bake the taco sliders until cheese is melted and the buns are golden brown.
- Cover Sliders – While the sliders are baking, make sure to cover with foil. This prevents the top of the sliders from burning.

Frequently Asked Questions
We like using Hawaiian Rolls because they are a sturdy roll. If you use other rolls or are having problems with the rolls getting soggy, you may need to toast the bread before adding the taco mixture.
These taco sliders are the perfect party food. These are best served immediately on a serving platter. I usually run a knife to slightly break up the rolls so they are easy to grab and serve.
These sliders are best served fresh, but you can refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.

Taco Sliders
Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 pkg Taco Seasoning or 2 Tablespoons Homemade Seasoning
- 1 cup Salsa
- 1/2 White Onion finely diced
- 12 Hawaiian Rolls or Slider Rolls
- 2 cups Shredded Mexican Style Cheese
- 2 Tablespoons Butter melted
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Chopped Cilantro
- Optional Toppings: Salsa Guacamole, Lettuce, Tomatoes, etc
Instructions
- Add the ground beef and diced onions to a large skillet and heat over medium high heat. Brown the beef and onions, breaking up the meat into small pieces until the onions are translucent and beef is cooked through (5-7 minutes).
- Add in the taco seasoning and the salsa and bring the mixture to a low boil.
