6 Easy Ways to Use Leftover Hamburger Buns

Here are some cool suggestions t0 use leftover hamburger buns that you will love once you try them:
1. Garlic Cheesy Bread
This is our favorite way to use leftover hamburger buns. Butter it, add mozzerella cheese, and garlic salt. Broil for about 2 minutes and you have garlic bread for practically no cost.
2. Make Pizza
You know what kids like even more than pizza? How about making their own mini pizza? You can make your own pizza sauce, use butter, or even use Alfredo sauce as the base. Sprinkle the sauce with shredded mozzarella, add toppings as desired, and bake in the oven or toaster oven until the cheese is melted. It is delicious!
3. Use as Filler for several meals.
Bread can be a great filler when you want to make a dish and spread it out further than usual. Hamburger buns are very absorbent so they make a perfect choice for this option. Simply break up the buns into small pieces and add them to your dish. Some examples are below.
- Breakfast skillet:
Crumble and cook breakfast sausage. Drain grease. Add raw mixed eggs and hamburger bun pieces. Scramble eggs. Top with gravy or cheese and serve.
- Meatloaf:
Use hamburger bun pieces in place of oatmeal or other filler in meatloaf. - Casseroles:
Use in place of noodles in any kind of casserole.
4. Use as a Crust
If you want a dish with a crust, but don’t feel like making the crust from scratch, try using your leftover hamburger buns. Make your dish. Break up the hamburger buns. Spread the buns on top of the dish. Spritz lightly with butter or oil. Sprinkle with your favorite crust seasonings. Bake as you normally would.
5. Baked Sandwiches
Leftover hamburger buns are great for use with baked sandwiches. Ham and cheese, turkey and cheese, or any other leftover meats you might have are going to be great when you bake them on leftover hamburger buns.
6. Frozen Snacks
Whether you want to make a breakfast sandwich for the end of the week or you just want an easy snack to reach for, use hamburger buns to make them even better. You can pre cook the sandwiches and wrap them up for freezing. When you are ready, just take them out and heat them up in the microwave. For people on the go who don’t want to eat fast food this is ideal. You will never have to buy another breakfast sandwich from the gas station or drive thru again.
The only limit you have when it comes to ways to use your leftover hamburger buns is your imagination. They can be used in any situation where you might use bread as a replacement. They are far more filling than slices of bread and they tend to make sandwiches more appealing.
