Ever since we bought our air fryer, it has really been a game changer. Chicken is one of our favorite things to cook in it! This recipe does not disappoint and your family will really love it.

Each bite is tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Plus, it has amazing flavor and you only need a few simple ingredients.

This is one of our go to recipes when we want fried chicken but need it fast for dinner. I can’t wait for you to try it.

How to make air fryer chicken thighs

This recipe is so simple and anyone can make it. After seasoning the meat, put them in a single layer in the air fryer.

You only need to flip the chicken once. In just minutes, you will have the best chicken!

Ingredients:

  • Chicken Thighs – Skin on with Bones
  • Olive Oil
  • Paprika
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper

How to cook chicken thighs in air fryer

First, preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees. No worries if your air fryer does not have a preheat option. Just let it run for 5 minutes at 390 degrees.

Second, put the olive oil over the chicken thighs. I like to drizzle it all over and use a basting brush to make sure all of the chicken is covered.

Next, mix together the seasonings in a small bowl. You are going to be amazed how just a few simple seasonings give this chicken so much flavor.

Once the seasoning is mixed together, rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken thighs. Make sure you get everywhere.

How long to cook chicken thighs In air fryer

Finally, put the meat in a single layer in the air fryer and cook at 390 degrees for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, flip the chicken and cook for an another 8 to 10 minutes.

The chicken needs to reach an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees.

Tips for cooking chicken thighs in air fryer:

  • Do not overlap the chicken in the air fryer. You may have to cook the chicken in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving and enjoy!
  • Refrigerate the leftovers in an air tight container for up to 5-6 days.
  • This air fryer is the one that I currently have and I really like it. It is worth it to get the larger size. I know many people that purchased the smaller one and wished they initially bought the larger one.

Try air fryer boneless chicken thighs.

This recipe works great with boneless chicken thighs as well too! Feel free to use whatever you prefer.

You can also substitute chicken breasts for chicken thighs.

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees F. Note: If your air fryer does not have a preheat option, then run the air fryer for 5 minutes at 390 degrees F.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken thighs.  I used a basting brush to cover the chicken thighs evenly.
  • Combine all the seasonings together in a small bowl.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture over the chicken thighs.
  • Place the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer. Cook at 390 degrees F for 10 minutes. Then flip the chicken and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees F. Do not overlap the chicken in the air fryer.   • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving and enjoy!
