Recipe has too much sodium for my family. can I make it using low sodium chicken broth and some kind of thickener instead of cream of chicken soup?

    1. Kathy - Eating on a Dime Team says:

Gwen – Yes, feel free to modify this to meet your needs. Low sodium chicken broth and low sodium cream soup make great swaps!

  2. Emmz says:

I’m making this for tonight right now! Not sure how it will turn out. I only had 1 can of cream of mushroom and 1 can of cream of celery. Hopefully it will still taste good!

    1. Kathy - Eating on a Dime Team says:

Emmz – That sounds delicious. Let us know how it turned out.

  3. Heaven says:

Can I cook them from frozen for this recipe?

    1. Carrie Barnard says:

Yes, you can add in the pork chops as frozen and use the longer range of the cook time in this recipe. Thanks!

OMG! After trying two of your slow cooker recipes I am a forever fan! My husband I always try a recipe exactly how it’s written then we “tweak it”” to suit us. The pork chops were so soft. I put the sauce in a small pot and mixed in corn starch with milk to make a thicker gravy over mashed potatoes. A bagged salad mix and such an easy meal! I used 4 chops and cut everything in half. We are think maybe a little black pepper and some seasoned salt. But otherwise perfect, especially for finicky children. Thank you so much for all you do!

    1. Kathy - Eating on a Dime Team says:

Angel – Aww you are welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing this feedback with us. It really made my day!

    1. Pamela Mitchell says:

Can I omit the ranch seasoning and use thinner porkchops

      1. Carrie Barnard says:

Pamela – Yes, you can use thinner pork chops but you’ll need to reduce the cook time as the pork chops will be done a lot quicker if that are thinner. Yes, you can omit the ranch seasoning but it’s all the seasoning for this recipe so I would recommend adding in different seasonings instead so that the pork chops are not bland.

  12. Sandra says:

I would like to use bone in, which have and only for two

    1. Carrie Barnard says:

Yes, you can use bone-in pork chops in this recipe and if you are only making 2, only cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-2.5 hours until cooked through. I hope you enjoy this recipe.

  13. SHARON BRISTER BAL says:

I tried your recipe tonight and it was extraordinarily easy and delicious! I’m retired now, so I haven’t used my crock pot in quite the while, but I will be bringing out next week to try same recipe, except using chicken!
I served baked sweet potatoes and peas, made in the microwave, so cleanup was easy, peasy! LOL

    1. Carrie Barnard says:

Woohoo! I love hearing this Sharon and I’m so glad to hear that you are using your crock pot again. I can’t wait to hear how this recipe is with chicken! Thanks for sharing.

  14. Courtney says:

What can I use instead of the ranch seasoning mix? I forgot to get it ????

  15. Carol says:

I’m making this tonight for dinner. I just wanted to tell you all that milk is the magic ingredient to make pork tender. Either marinate it or cook in it. I don’t scientifically know why, but it works. So, there is cream in the cream of chicken soup.

    1. Carrie Barnard says:

      Thanks for sharing Carol!

  16. Jill says:

    Perfect over mashed potato’?

    1. Carrie Barnard says:

Yes, love it over mashed potatoes!

  19. Linda says:

My family loved it. Had to use one can of cream of mushroom and one can of cream of chicken. Still good. Also, I added a tablespoon of lemon juice. I agree with others. The cooking time seemed a bit long for pork chops. Mine fell apart but also a touch dry. I would shorten it the next time by an hour. Thank you for your recipes. They have made my life much easier.

  20. Chris says:

I made it and the flavor was very good. Did add a little minced garlic but followed rest of recipe. The only issue I had was the meat was dry. I know this happens often when you use a crockpot. Will be trying this recipe again.

    1. Carrie Barnard says:

I’m glad you enjoyed the flavor Chris. To prevent the pork from getting to dry next time, I recommend reducing the cook time. Your crock pot might run hotter than ours so it might have just overcooked the pork chops a bit.
