This crock pot meatball recipe is so simple but really amazing! We love to cook these on busy nights or even for parties. We have served these for game night, birthday parties and other celebrations.
It’s so nice to have the slow cooker do all the work! The tomato sauce gives the meatballs just the right amount of flavor.
Top with cheese and it’s even better! We like to use Hoagie buns but you could use what you have on hand. I have even used hamburger buns in a pinch.
What to serve with meatball subs:
These go really well with a green salad, Grilled Corn on the Cob.or Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries. We have even just had chips on really busy nights or for parties.
Try making Crockpot Meatball Sliders
You can use Hawaiian rolls instead of hoagie buns. Slider rolls are also perfect for kids or to serve at parties. We also make Jalapeno Poppers Burger Sliders Recipe and it’s a big hit! Everyone loves sliders!
You will need a good slow cooker for Slow Cooker Meatballs.
If you don’t have a Ninja cooker yet, I highly recommend you purchase this one. I love it because I can brown the beef in the same slow cooker.
It is nice to just have the one pan to clean. It has become of my favorite kitchen appliances.
You can brown the meatballs in the Ninja cooker and then pour the rest of the sauce over them. Of course you can use a skillet for the meatballs but it’s so nice being able to use one pan.
You can also use a crock pot. If you need a crockpot or maybe just want a new one, I love this crockpot. This is the crockpot that I use and it’s great. I love that you can actually lock the lid down making it easy for when you take meals to potlucks. There are several others on sale here.
I also love this programmable crock pot for when I am am not at home. It’s so nice to come home to dinner waiting. I love that you can program it to cut off. So handy for those days you will be out of the house. Plus, it will stay warm until you are ready to eat.
I also like to use crock pot liners to make clean up a breeze. These are worth every penny and save a ton of time. We love quick meals but it defeats the purpose if it takes forever to clean up everything. These liners save so much time!

I’m not one for meatball subs, but this recipe knocks it out of the park! So easy to prepare, especially when you get the kids involved in mixing with their clean hands and rolling those meatballs! The aroma of all those spices/cheese cooking all afternoon only whet our appetite for dinnertime. The vote was in and the family requested this meal be a permanent go to at least twice a month. I even loved this meatball sub served with a side salad. Delish!
No leftovers! Very good and I will make them again!
Made these on Sunday and they were a hit for our Football Sunday! Easy and Delicious!
Don’t waste your time and money grabbing a meatball sub from the sandwich shop when you can make this flavor packed, healthy version at home. Get the kids to help roll the meatballs for a little family interaction time too. The hubby asks for this one all the time!
