I’m all about easy and this recipe for crockpot sweet potatoes is definitely simple. You can enjoy tender sweet potatoes without ever heating up your oven.
We do this all the time and the sweet potatoes turn out so delicious. My favorite is to cook a crock pot full of potatoes on Sunday and I can enjoy them for a quick lunch during the week.

Crockpot sweet potatoes ingredient:
- 6 Medium Size Sweet Potatoes
Toppings:
- 3 Tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp pepper
How to make sweet potatoes in the slow cooker:
First, you need to wash the sweet potatoes (you don’t need to dry). Then stab 6-8 times per sweet potato with a fork in various spots throughout the sweet potato.
Place the sweet potatoes in the crock pot.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-3.5 hours until a knife can easily be inserted and removed and the sweet potatoes are soft when squeezed gently.
Topping ideas:
Serve topped with the butter, salt and pepper. Enjoy!
My kids like to add cinnamon and brown sugar to their sweet potato. Sometimes I do too.
We have even added a few mini marshmallows on top. 🙂
