It is so easy. Let’s get started!

Valentines day menu idea

Main Dish – Flank Steak with easy marinade

Flank Steak costs about $6-7 per pound. About 1 pound of steak should be plenty for both people, so that is just $7 total. No need to have filet mignon to have a great steak dinner.

You probably have everything in your pantry to make this amazing marinade, so that cost would be negligible. You may even spend less and this marinade is amazing.

Another tasty idea to try is beef tenderloin and it is also easy to prepare. Stuffed Chicken is also delicious and pork chops too.

If you are looking for a pasta dish, try Shrimp scampi.

Side – Rosemary Roasted Potatoes

You only need a few red potatoes for this recipe, along with some butter and seasonings (which you probably have on hand). Total cost would be under $1.

We are up to about $8. Can’t beat that! Mashed potatoes are also delicious and easy in the slow cooker.  Sweet potatoes also make a great side.

Vegetable – Easy Roasted Asparagus

You can pick up a bunch of asparagus for about $3 at most grocery stores. Our grand total now is about $11.

This side dish is amazing and seems “oh so fancy” without all the work. Plus, so simple to make and great flavor!

Dessert – Sprite Zero Skinny Cupcakes

We can often get cake mix for about $1, but if you can grab one on sale and with a coupon you can probably find them for $0.50! The Coke products (including Sprite Zero) was on sale at my local grocery store for only $1 each.

You can make heart shaped cupcakes to make this dessert even more festive for date night.

That means you can make this delicious dessert for no more than $2 (plus you’ll have lots left over). Enjoy comfort foods without the cost or calories!

It is a win all around! The recipe is easy and so tasty.
