Have you ever made too much pasta before? I know we have! For some reason we make too much pasta or not enough. Now… we make too much on purpose because there are so many ways you can use left over pasta.
1. Freeze the pasta to use later.
Did you know that you can freeze pasta? This is a an easy way to use left over pasta. Just freeze it! Read my post here to learn how easy it is to do.
2. Add Butter or Parmesan to make a new side dish.
Parmesan pasta is one of my favorite side dish and we make it all the time with leftover pasta. Or… just add some butter and garlic sauce and you have an easy side dish. Place it all in a microwave dish and heat up for about 3 minutes for a quick addition to your meal.
3. Make Macaroni and Cheese
This is another easy side dish idea. Go here to read my recipe on how we make a homemade macaroni and cheese. If you have left over macaroni, penne, or rotini you can make this delicious side dish.
4. Add it to a casserole.
Casseroles are fun to make but they take longer to make when you have to boil pasta for the dish. Now, plan ahead and make extra pasta and plan for that casserole. We do this all the time. If we are having spaghetti, we will be make extra spaghetti noodles, then later we will make pizza pasta casserole with those noodles.
5. Add it to a soup.
If you are making a delicious soup like this Crockpot Italian Chicken Soup recipe. You will make it like normal and just toss in the pasta in the soup about 15 minutes before serving it so the pasta heats up. You could do the same thing with this Crockpot Chicken Noodle Soup recipe.
6. Serve it with crockpot dinners.
We love crockpot dinners, but when you need to boil pasta to complete the meal, it ruins the “quickness” of having dinner ready when you get home. We use the leftover pasta from previous dinners and serve them with our crockpot meals.
