Variations Ideas

This is a great base recipe for the shrimp. You can add in any of your favorite spices to mix up the flavor of the shrimp.

I love adding Cajun seasoning, blackened seasoning, Old Bay Seasoning or lemon pepper seasoning. It is so easy to change this up.

How to Make Shrimp in the Air Fryer

  • Step 1 – Take the shrimp and run under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Step 2 – Toss together the shrimp, olive oil and all the seasonings to make sure the shrimp is well coated. I normally use a medium size bowl to do this.

  • Step 3 – Next, you need to preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. No worries if you do not have this setting. Just run it on 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
  • Step 4 – Put the shrimp in the basket so they can cook. Make sure to do this in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may have to cook them in batches.

  • Step 5 – Let it cook for about 7 to 8 minutes in the air fryer. Serve and enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • Prepare Shrimp – We like to buy shrimp that has been peeled and deveined. But if you do not have this option, this will need to be done before cooking shrimp.
  • Preheat Air Fryer – If your air fryer has this function, we recommend preheating the air fryer. If it does not, then turn on your air fryer for a few minutes before air frying the shrimp.
  • Single Layer – Place the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. This helps to fully cook the shrimp.

Wow!! My first time using our new Ninja Air Fryer, so I wanted a nice simple recipe!! This shrimp is delicious!!! We had small salad shrimp so when they came out, they could have been toothpick appetizer food, but they were so tasty!! I can’t wait to make this again with regular size shrimp!!!
