  • Seasoning – Feel free to change the seasoning or add fresh herbs for more flavor. Top with garlic powder, fresh parsley, and basil. We even like to top with parmesan cheese and fresh lemon juice once we remove from the oven. Asparagus with lemon is a family favorite.

How to Cook Asparagus in the Oven:

  • Step 1 – Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Step 2 – Trim the edges of the asparagus off. You want to get all the rough ends cut off.

  • Step 3 – Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil for easy clean up.
  • Step 4 – Lay asparagus on the cookies sheet in an even single layer to roast the asparagus.
  • Step 5 – Drizzle lightly with olive oil and season with the minced garlic, salt and pepper.

  • Step 6 – Cook for 7-10 minutes based on thickness of the asparagus until asparagus darkens slightly and is tender. Do NOT overcook. The asparagus should still be crisp. It will continue cook as it sits.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Trim the edges of the asparagus off. You want to get all the rough ends cut off.
  • Line a cookie sheet with foil for easy clean up.
  • Lay asparagus on the cookies sheet in an even layer.
  • Drizzle lightly with the olive oil.
  • Sprinkle the minced garlic, salt and pepper over the top of the asparagus.
  • Cook for 5-8 minutes based on the thickness of the asparagus (thinner asparagus will cook faster) until asparagus darkens slightly and is tender. Do NOT overcook. The asparagus should still be crisp.

    I love asparagus, so I’m always looking for different ways to prepare. I changed up your recipe a bit. Used garlic powder instead of garlic salt, then sprinkled lemon pepper over(before roasting). Yum!
