Our family never gets tired of buffalo chicken so everyone was super excited when I made Grilled Buffalo Chicken. We just love that delicious flavor of buffalo wing sauce flavor.

If you have tried our Buffalo Chicken Wings then you are going to love this buffalo chicken. The chicken cooks quickly on the grill and we have used the chicken to top our buffalo chicken salad, buffalo chicken wrap or make a buffalo chicken sandwich.

This recipe is made with only 3 ingredients which makes it budget friendly and the perfect weeknight meal.

Variations Ideas

  • Change Meat – This recipe will also work great with skinless chicken thighs or drumsticks or wings or even pork chops.
  • Seasoning – You can even added seasoning the ranch dry mix if you prefer. Add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, onion powder, black pepper, kosher salt and garlic powder.

How to Make Grilled Buffalo Chicken

Step 1 – Place boneless skinless chicken breasts, ranch dressing packet, and buffalo sauce in a freezer bag.

Step 2 – Marinade at least one hour.

Step 3 – Remove from the bag and place on the grill.

Step 4 – Cook on high heat for 2 minutes per side, flip and then turn to medium heat. Cook until chicken is cooked through. About 20 minutes. Serve immediately.

Recipe Tips

  • Add a Glaze – If you like spicy, you can even brush extra buffalo sauce (not from the marinade) on the chicken right before removing from the grill.
  • Cooking Chicken – Cooking time will vary when grilling you chicken. We recommend cooking chicken that about the same size so they cook evenly. Make sure to insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the chicken to ensure it is fully cooked. The internal temperature should 165 degrees.

What is the Secret to Grilling Chicken?

The secret to grilling the best chicken is took it over high heat for about 2-3 minutes and then move to indirect heat to finish cooking. Watch chicken closely so you do not overcook it.

Is Buffalo Chicken Hot or Spicy?

This buffalo chicken recipe is family friendly. The chicken is not spicy so even my kids enjoy eating it. Adding the glaze at the end of grilling the chicken, can make the chicken a little spicy. If you like it spicy add more glaze.

Can I Make in the Oven?

Yes, this grilled chicken recipe works great in the oven. Place the chicken breast in a baking dish after it has marinaded in the buffalo sauce. Bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.

How to store Leftover Buffalo Chicken

Store leftover buffalo chicken in an airtight container and place in the fridge. It will stay fresh for up to 4 days.
